Aldo's Ristorante Review

My daughter loved the food and the birthday surprise. Everything was amazing and well worth the money.

I m so confused. What makes this place popular??? The award winning calamari was nothing special at all. Very basic. The first serving of table bread is great but they switch to a different bread if you want seconds or charge you to duplicate the first order. The wood fire pizza is typical of a wannabe pizza joint and certainly doesn t come close to real wood fire pizza.
Now for the service. A+. That was the saving grace for paying way we did for mediocre food. The server was attentive, responsive, and considerate.

My mother and I have treated ourselves to this culinary gem on a few occasions, mostly as she lives in Yorktown, and I in Richmond. Make no mistake, it is absolutely worth driving to, despite your whereabouts. Jacob is a fantastic server, full of warmth, wit, incite, and most importantly trustworthy suggestions and recommendations. Save room for dessert and cappuccino!

I had the lamb chops and they were outstanding. I did not take a picture of dinner, but I did for the key lime pie. Yummy good

Absolutely LOVED this restaurant! My boyfriend and I went here on our last night of our vacation. Was the BEST dinner we had throughout our whole trip! Our server was amazing, the atmosphere was fantastic, food came out hot and was so delicious! If we go back to Virginia beach, this will be the ONE restaurant we will DEFINITELY be returning to! Thank you to the staff for such a great experience!

I have heard good things about this place for some time. We rarely get out to Virginia Beach so this was our first experience. Wow!! The service was absolutely incredible. The food was cooked to perfection! My husband and I will definitely be back again!!

The environment is great. You may want to rethink your outfit for the night, however the experience was magnificent. The food was outstanding. My waitress Lesley provided amazing service and was extremely friendly. I would recommend this place to everyone I know!!! The lamb was finger licking.

I m usually very impressed by Aldos. It has been a place that my family and I have enjoyed time and time again, however today I cannot say the same. We ordered the special that came with fried lobster, however the lobster was completely RAW. We were soo in shock we didn t even think to take a picture of it before immediately asking for it to be cooked longer. We had to wait about 15 minutes longer after already waiting nearly an hour for the lobster to come out. Once it came out it was good, however I wasn t impressed that they didn t AT THE VERY LEAST offer a discount for the lobster dish due to the inconvenience of the wait. The restaurant manager came to the table and informed us that the lobster was indeed raw and apologized but that s all we got, which was disappointing. We still tipped because of the service of the waiter.

This was the first visit to Aldo s. It was a busy night, so they sat us in the outside area. Fair enough. The host said it would be warm, but it definitely was not. About 30 minutes in, he came out and basically said oops the heat isn t on . In the meantime, we ordered our food. We started with the calamari. It was flavorless and not crispy at all. Our main entrees were the Gorgonzola pasta and the risotto. The Gorgonzola had flavor, but the risotto was under cooked and had zero flavor. With my glass of wine, it was a meal that cost over $100 for two of us and it was so disappointing. I don t think I ll be back.

The plus was that our server was nice.
