Great place but pricey but the owner is so accommodating

This place is amazing. The moment I walked in I began to smile. The service was great the gentleman was very knowledgeable and kind. I know I will be returning to purchase more.

Wonderful place! Amazing gift ideas, and outstanding terrariums of all sizes that are very visually pleasing and made on site.

A great place to buy a ready-made, elaborate terrarium of any kind. More of a gift shop than a home and gardening center, so the make-it-yourself materials for sale are limited- though they do carry a nice selection of standing and hanging vessels and containers for your creations.

Alapash is hands-down my favorite store in Chicago. I wish I could live in this store. It smells amazing, has the most beautiful textiles and rugs, and friendly people! The prices are extremely reasonable - for the rugs and pillows, in particular, I've seen less-unique versions selling in the city for double. I've stopped buying candles anywhere else because these are simply the best smelling. I joke with my husband that now that we've moved across country that I want to open up my own Alapash, I miss it that much.

Alapash is lovely! Not only did Marco help me handpick decorations that would fit my new apartment, but he also gave me careful, detailed instructions on how to maintain the plants I purchased (which I definitely need!) and took the time to get to know me as a person. He made me feel welcome in his shop and welcome in the neighborhood. A very positive experience!

Perfect place to find unique gifts. Can get a bit pricey but everything is high quality and the owner is the nicest man and knows everything about his products.

Everything in this shop is well thought out. Fantastic place to buy things for your home and friends. I can't say enough about this shop! Remember to breathe when you walk inside.

If you need a housewarming gift or a creative terrarium to decorate your home or office, this is the place for you. Seriously, the staff here is so helpful and all of the items in the store are so neat! There is something from every corner of the world and something for every price point and interest. It is hard to walk out with making a purchase.
