It is time to say goodbye to our lovely home.
After moving to Toronto, our first two weeks passed with walking around (15 km per day) the city to find a place to live. We do not remember how many flats or houses we visited but, we reminisce the day we found our home at Akelius Apartment- 263 Russell Hill.
Everyone has different priorities and likings when it comes to where to live: rent, location, floor plan, facilities, and appliances, etc.
For us, 263 Russell Hill is the perfect location. It is a minute away from the 512 streetcar stop and 20 minutes away from downtown Toronto. It is close to grocery shopping and restaurants and bars on St. Clair W.
Our unit is a newly renovated one with brand new appliances. Clean and fully functioning cozy flat with a gorgeous view of Toronto sunset (please see the photo)
Even the location-rent relation was one of the most significant factors for us, Akelius officers, and staff attitude was crucial to us choosing Akelius apartment. From the start, they made our lives easier. They are friendly professionals. The management responds quickly and solves the issues neatly and, the apartment staff is always decent and kind. Also, we had polite and humble neighbors.
My husband and I had a splendid two and a half years.

Working with Michelle Kats from Akelius was an absolute pleasure. Michelle was incredibly flexible, helping us first with a virtual tour (as we were out of the city) and then staying on past our set appointment time so that our son- who is a university student and who we were renting the apartment for, could go and take a look at the place. She was very kind, super patient, and always available to answer our many questions. I am so glad that we were able to go through this process with Michelle. We really felt that we were in good hands. The apartment is clean, in a lovely old building, and in a great part of the city.
I've just signed a lease with Akelius Canada, during the height of wave III in the covid pandemic, the process was done online mostly to suit the situation. It went very smoothly with the help of the leasing manager Tea Zujovic, she was very attentive, excellent in her communication, and was able to meet every request and need presented to her by me. So far I'm giving Akelius 5 stars for a perfect good impression. The application was extensive with very thorough background checks, perhaps more than other property management, and that gives some assurance to tenants knowing our neighbours are well vetted! Much thanks to Tea and Akelius!
When renting in Toronto, you have 2 options: older apartment building which are roomy but typically unrenovated and often poorly maintained or new condos that have all the mod cons, but are tiny. At 755 Avenue Road, owned by Akelius, we found the perfect solution: a fully renovated suite that is roomy and well laid out. The finish is highend: Bosch appliances in the kitchen, Euro fixtures in the bathrooms, beautiful engineered wood flooring throughout.
Akelius rep, Nasrin Javadi was very helpful through out the whole rental application process. Now that we have moved in, we have contacted Akelius via their 800 number, the local office and the onsite caretaker. In all cases they have been helpful and responsive.

Mateo Cariboni literally bent over backward to make sure I could get the space I desired. Worked with me through a few challenges and quickly problem solved every single time an issue arose.
He s got very strong communication skills and is very accommodating.

I reached to the rent a unit in a building, and was offered a much more competitive deal by an agent. She tailored to my needs and found me a perfect unit suitable for what I wanted.
Michelle was very clear and concise. She assisted throughout the whole process and made herself readily available to answer my questions.
Michelle also did a fantastic job at returning all my paper work in a timely manner. I was quite impressed with the leasing process as it was superior to other buildings I have rented from before, and furthermore superior than when I previously rented with Akelius in the past.
I will detail my experience with moving and the property manager once I have resolved a few concerns upon moving in.
