Good food. I've had better. Just a comparison against other hibachi grills I've been to in the area. The boy who actually took a lot longer than usual so. I will definitely go again because I don't believe in the one visit Theory.
I ordered the spicy Mexican roll and it came with honey mustard sauce on it which was not listed on the menu. I wanted it remade but the staff member argued with me that it was made to order and that I didn t say no mustard although mustard isn t listed on the menu. She Didn t apologize and implied that I was trying to get extra food you need to bring back the other order . Asked for the manager but he will not be back until Friday. I m disappointed in their lack of customer service.
First time at Akaya. Good food, great selection (several pages of sushi and sashimi), competitive prices, and able to cater to both intimate dinners and large groups. I was impressed. Will definitely return.
Good Tokyo tea, cucumber peppercorn Tuna sushi was very tasty. Habachi was very flavorful and had good vibes. Jasmin was the best!
Exceptional quality fish. Amazing sushi rice (you wouldn't believe how many places in Jax make it wrong). Amazing service. I'd give more stars if I could.
The servers are always accommodating and attentive. The decor is modern and yet welcoming, but the food is definitely the star of the show at this restaurant! A good place to hang out and enjoy some sushi, bento boxes, etc.
I'm reviewing Akaya after my first visit. After a few more visits I will edit as needed. Atmosphere a bit quiet. Not a huge bar but nice. Take out station was on fire! Super busy. Lydia, our bartender was awesome! Food was good, but need to try more to make an informative post. Will be back.
We come here often and love this location. We try to come here once every other week. I feel like they try their hardest with the sushi presentation. At least in the orange park area I have yet to find anything better!
Not from the area, move very frequently due to my job. Of all the Japanese Steakhouses I have been to... this is hands down the BEST hibachi I have ever had. I visited atleast once a month for the past year and I have never been disappointed. I am saddened for the day I have to move away!
