Very busy, for long distances the beginning of the route is annoying due to the many buggies, strollers and young runners. So start early for 40 and 25 km walkers. Perfect organization, good shuttle buses and well-marked parking.

If you are interested in the battle of Arnhem and love walking then this is really something for you. Along the trail there are information boards on which you can see what happened here in September 1944. You can choose from different distances: 10, 15, 25 and 40km. What still disappoints me is the lack of sanitation on the loop of the 40 km route.

For our family an annual event because my wife as a child already participated in the Airborne Walking Tour. When I came into her family almost 30 years ago (we have been married for more than 27 years), I also had to believe in this tradition. Then in 1989 I walked for the first time (25 km). This is not the case here: we have also extended our children (now 21 and 24). Beautiful event,

With over 31,000 participants for years the biggest one day walking tour. The goal is important and MUST be passed on: "so that we will not forget" !! We are from after the war and we want to keep it that way.

This year the 70th Airborne Walking Tour and what a trip! Through the beautiful landscape around Oosterbeek that is full of History. Horsa gliders and Paratroopers from the Pegasus division filled the sky here many years ago, but their sacrifice has never been forgotten!

An experience with a historical framework. Very busy, so do not expect that you can walk alone. Well organized. Very nice to walk with children and so the memory of the battle for Arnhem remains alive.

It is a very nice experience to walk along with this trip. Every now and then you can see a soldier walking in uniform and you can witness the ceremony at the cemetery. If you have the time and I would really recommend this trip

For the 2nd time walked with the 10km trip. Parking was well organized this time. After having been in line for more than an hour a year ago, we missed the start of the show. This year you paid afterwards and we were on time. Nice walk made. Respect for the veterans who were present all day. Beautiful tribute.

A very well-organized walking tour in the surroundings of Oosterbeek. You walk along the landing sites that were used in the 2nd World War during the Battle of Arnhem. The journey is all about this battle. There are sufficient sanitary facilities and catering facilities along the different routes. In various villages you will be greeted by the local brass band. Easily accessible by public transport and car.

This year I walked the PSVR / Airborne Wandtocht for the 6th time in a row with my sons, his wife, children and some friends. It was again a great and perfectly organized event, you could travel by public transport, bus, train , bicycle or car. We were by car, where depending on your approach route you will be guided to one of the 2 parking places, we arrived at exit Renkum of the A50 and were led to parking Boersberg on the Boersberg. From there we were transported by shuttle bus to the starting field, it was clearly indicated where to walk. On the return journey we were able to get back on the same spot and were transported by bus to the Boersberg parking area, where we had to pay the 10.00 total for parking and bus transport for max 4 people when leaving the car. money for this service. Regarding the registration for the walking tour for your starting permit, you had the option to register via the website and print out your starting ticket or to buy your starting ticket at one of the many sales points. With the total of 30,000 participants it was a beautiful and perfectly organized event. After entering you could use your start / proof of inspection, your medal, ribbon or version number, depending on how many times you pick up at the sales points. It was an unforgettable day again !!

About Airborne Wandeltocht / Airborne March

Welcome to Airborne Wandeltocht, the world's largest one-day memorial walk. This event is held annually in September in Oosterbeek, Netherlands, and attracts thousands of participants from all over the world. The Airborne Wandeltocht is a tribute to the soldiers who fought and died during World War II's Battle of Arnhem.

The history of this event dates back to 1947 when a group of Dutch citizens organized a march to commemorate the British and Polish soldiers who lost their lives during Operation Market Garden. The first edition had only 48 participants, but it has grown significantly over the years.

Today, Airborne Wandeltocht is an international event that brings together people from different countries and cultures to honor those who sacrificed their lives for freedom. The walk covers a distance of 10 kilometers or 15 kilometers through beautiful landscapes that were once battlefields.

Apart from being a memorial walk, Airborne Wandeltocht also raises funds for various charities that support veterans and their families. Over the years, this event has raised millions of euros for organizations such as Help for Heroes and Combat Stress.

Airborne Wandeltocht is not just about walking; it's also about experiencing history firsthand. Participants get to visit historical sites such as the John Frost Bridge (also known as Arnhem Bridge), where one of the most significant battles took place during World War II. They can also explore museums such as Airborne Museum Hartenstein or attend lectures by historians who specialize in this period.

If you're planning on participating in Airborne Wandeltocht, there are several things you need to know beforehand. First and foremost, make sure you register early because spots fill up quickly! You can register online via their website or at designated locations throughout Oosterbeek.

Secondly, prepare yourself physically because walking 10-15 kilometers can be challenging if you're not used to it. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for outdoor activities.

Lastly, don't forget your camera! You'll want to capture every moment of this unique experience so that you can share it with your friends and family back home.

In conclusion, if you're looking for an unforgettable way to pay tribute to those who fought for our freedom during World War II while supporting veterans' charities at the same time – then look no further than Airborne Wandeltocht! Join thousands of other walkers from around the world on this incredible journey through history – we promise it will be an experience like no other!
