This was a good place to work. Then my immediate supervisor found out I was black and everything changed. He liked to come over to my area with racist comments that he thought was funny. He even stated in a group that if you think the rebel flag is racist you should be fired and not work there. While this happened my work started to suffer and I started worrying about being fired. which made my work suffer even more. I've seen other black employees not get as much leeway in their apprenticeships and were fired. While I've seen them bend over backwards for other white employees to get them through their apprenticeships. I should have reported this in the beginning but i thought it would go on deaf ears and I would end up being the one disciplined and put into difficulty. Finally, after my performance moved to dismal levels, I was moved to a different area with a higher workload and put on probation. I told them I couldn't handle the workload and wouldn't be able to pass the probation but they didn't care. Then the 3rd shift manager started his verbal harassment of yelling and cursing at the top of his lungs. I reported this and was laughed at. After being fired I tried getting my job back by telling the owner all of this but like always he didn't even care. I would only suggest applying here if your able to be perfect, one of the buddies, or think the rebel flag is a sign of solidarity. Even after all this, I still haven't reported this for some insane reason. Mostly because you just can't fight the white man.

Thought I would stay at this company for a long time, until I realized there was complete favoritism and bullying. Its like a walk back to back to high school. Not a positive atmosphere in the wiring dept. If you like to fight and be childish, you'll love it here.

I had the most unprofessional experience during a call with an Aerotech recruiter in Indianapolis. The call must have be a screen for a position that she didn't bother mentioning. The questions could have all been answered by actually reading my resume and were framed in the most negative and shaming way possible. The caller had not done any homework about me and my career. In the future I will screen out all calls from this agency and suggest the same to others who want their achievements respected to do the same.

I was lucky enough to get a tour of the machine shop and the R&D department with my CEO. As an engineer, I was blown away by the accuracy and repeatability of their state-of-the art motion control products. NANO POSITIONING - MADE IN USA!!

Only apply to work here if you are perfect, single, and can devote all of your time and energy to work and nothing else. When I took the tour and first started working there I thought it was a great place to work. I soon realized that optional overtime was "mandatory" without this being said overtly. There is no flexibility at all . They are not willing to accommodate for individuals. For example, if you take the bus and need to start 15 minutes late and end 15 minutes late this is not the type of place that would allow for such an accommodation. Overtime is always only in 2hr blocks. Do not make the same mistake more than once. They say if you need to talk to them there is an open door policy but no one is actually willing to help if you go to them. It just becomes and exhausting unfriendly place to work. They do have good benefits and typically promote from within.

Shout out to Renee S. for responding in a timely manner to my voicemail. I was trying to get a hold of someone in the HR/Payroll department for an extended period of time; later to find out the employee was on vacation. Renee then stepped up and provided me the information needed to complete my client's info. So Aerotech, make sure you recognize Renee for her efforts. She was a pleasure to deal with.
