Check-in was quick. Staff was friendly and helpful. Although their conssession stands closed at peak time to eat 4pm. Many families were disappointed including ours. We had a group of 18 that missed out on food

The hippos and penguins make it worth the trip once. Theres also an under water shark tunnel, but it's not the longest. If you're claustrophobic I wouldn't go into it. They have a new exhibit too where you can walk across the shack exhibit. It's not as scary as it sounds and is accessible for bigger people. They dont really limit the people on it though, so you spend most of it being rushed. The place to feel little sharks and sting-rays is pretty big and neat. We went during a really busy weekend and the crowds weren't that bad still. Was able to get access to the exhibits.
30$ a person isnt horrible for pricing, but when you can pay 30$ to go to the Philadelphia zoo that's bigger and has more... the price is pretty steep for what it is. It's still worth at least one visit. Then take the ferry across to explore that side a little bit.
There's not enough handicap spaces at all. We had a pass for the handicap individual we brought. You're better off dropping off any handicap individuals at the entrance, then trying to find handicap parking. I seen 5?
We have gone a few times, but I'm a little bias because we have gone to several aquariums and seen bigger/better for the price. If you have to pick between this or the zoo, definitely the zoo.
This is a good sized aquarium, with a lot of attractions. Probably one of the most unique attractions is the pair of Hippo's that reside at the aquarium, along with the Shark Tunnel, and, of course, the Shark Bridge. We also enjoyed the simulated thunderstorm in the rainforest display, and seeing the sea turtles swimming about. They have lots of other fish displays, with several locations where visitors can reach in and touch different creatures. It seems to be geared more towards families with younger children. Our kids are in high school & beyond, so it was not as appealing to us, but we saw lots of families with younger children who were really enjoying the many attractions geared more towards them. But for us, while it was still an enjoyable visit, we'll probably go elsewhere to visit our next aquarium.
Awesome Visit! Adult Hippos, Stingrays, Blue penguins, African penguins and Sharks, Sharks and more Sharks! Dare to try the Shark bridge ? If not, the Shark Tunnel is still pretty cool. Fun fact : They have the only Hammerhead shark on display in the country!
I used to come here with wonderment when I was a child. So to be able to see that same look in my own children's eyes was beautiful. This place is magical.
Not as big as expected, but had a great time. Went in December so there were Christmas trees everywhere including a large underwater one in the shark area. For an aquarium, you can touch a lot of animals which was amazing. I got to touch 2 sharks, several starfish, sea cucumber, sea urchin, sting ray, horseshoe crab, and a blue lobster. There was a large tank with fish, turtles, and some sharks and a 2nd large tank with more sharks and fish. The shark tank also has a shark tunnel to walk through where the sharks swim around you and a shark walk, where you walk over the shark tank in an enclosed rope bridge.
Man this place is super amazing and they where super nice to my wife because it was her birthday! They even let he feed the stingrays for free. yeah it is only worth a couple of bucks but, she loved it and made her Birthday that much more memorable.
Definitely a must see for the young and young at heart, but go on a non-peak day to enjoy all the exhibits at their peak potential! We got to do all the touch exihibits (shark, stingray, starfish, etc.), feed the stingrays, catch the 3D show, watch the piranha rainstorm and put the 2 resident hippos to "bed" for the night (An absolute must!). We LOVED it as a family and definitely plan on returning! If prices turn you away, Groupon usually runs deals as does the Aquarium itself.
Great place to take the family for the day or even a nice quiet getaway for yourself. My 3 yr old loved it! There was a section just for the kids with exhibits and activities where they can get hands on with some of the aquatic life. There is a play area for the kids as well if they need to burn off some energy. Plenty of clean rest rooms and places to eat that are conveniently located and not at all hard to find. The food is a bit pricey, but that's to be expected. The food was good and the portions were not small. The exhibits are all well thought out and just awesome to see. Experiencing something like the shark tunnel is an experience you wont find just anywhere, and to be so close to aquatic life such as the sharks, hippos, giant groupers, and equally giant sea turtles is almost a humbling experience. Television will never do for these creatures, you really MUST see them up close. This trip is highly recommended. Plenty of paid parking but traffic in and out is the worst. Getting in and out of the Jersey/Philadelphia area is an experience all in itself.
It is always great to see animals but I felt it there was too many people and it wasn't clean. Loved the hippos but the water was filthy. Couldn't really see them play. Wish it were in a better location with more outdoor scenery.
Crowded, but fun. Needed some changing of air filters, had clean bathrooms, good snacks, great gift shop - all in all a good afternoon; a little on the expensive side
Expect it to be crowded on a Saturday and if you don't like screaming kids or kids in general, pick a day when they might be in school. The exhibits are well maintained and overall it is clean and well staffed.
This is an OK aquarium considering the closest one to the philly area besides this one is 90 miles away. The childrens exibits are great but the rest of the exibits are somewhat limited.
Parking was an adventure! No signs stating the lot is cash only. Then the guy who corrals everyone into the lot freaked out on me trying to get me to pull back out but there was no okace to go! Dummy.
There is a lot that takes plastic and its closer to the door.
Once inside you find that the 25.95 entrance fee is steep for a little aquarium plus they have thier hands out for every little extra.
They do not limit the gate. the place was packed, it really degraded the experience. There were simply too many people jammed in there. We just couldn't see some of the exibits, and the ones we could see we had to rush. I would have maybe given ectra star if they had better croud control.
Recently went with my son and granddaughter had a very nice time. Exhibits where well displayed and very educational excellent place for younger children only drawback tickets are a little expensive. Otherwise would definitely go back again
Took my toddler there the other day. He enjoyed himself, but the layout was so awkward. Pair that with it being BEYOND packed, and it was very difficult to get from one place to another. The entrance and exit to the building are in the same location and in order to get to the exit, you need to pass through the crowd of people entering! Was not worth the money, at all.
Nice attraction for kids up to about age 6. Not alot to explore for bigger kids. Not enough exhibits compared to other aquariums we visited. Staff was not helpful at all, they lacked professionalism and customer service.
Not worth the money at all. Very poorly designed attractions with limited viewing opportunities. Confusing walkways, ramps and stairs that lead nowhere. From the outside it looks like a decent size but it's just wasted space and long corridors. The meal vouchers are a joke and the options are terrible. Don't let the advertisements fool you!
The aquarium was beautiful, it had a wide variety of animals and you are actually able to touch and feed some. They also had a diving show in the shark tank and that that was interesting. The kids had lots of fun.
Great place to spend the afternoon. Only a couple hrs and you seen the whole place. Not huge to spend a whole day. Need more interactive/feeding exhibits. People would pay mad money to feed these animals. Parking is pretty easy and they are still renovating. So it should be real good when it's all done
Very crowded and not well designed to handle crowds. Some great exhibits and lots of touch and interactive starions. Movie failed midshow. Kids were disappointed.
Excellent place for kids. They get to see and touch a variety of sea creatures. There s a 3D theatre that s included in the price that shows short documentaries about wildlife. There s also a great face painting artist (for an additional charge)
Went here when they had the Mermaids. While it was fun, there was only three mermaids for us to see and not much time for each mermaid since there are lines to see each and take pictures with. Other than that, the aquarium is great as there are tons of different sharks, sting ray, turtles for kids to see. They sell food here to eat during the day. Also have rental lockers as well. Parking is $10 and not far from the aquarium.
A fantastic, world class, informative, environmentally conscious and proactive aquarium that's easily accessible to all in the tri-county area and beyond. If you love the Baltimore Aquarium but it's a bit too far away, you will not be disappointed coming here! Not to mention it's a fun 10 minute ferry ride away from the heart of historic Philadelphia.
Beautiful building where you can see that the animals are well cared for. Large tanks are well maintained and they've done a great job at creating a fun and informative experience. Less expensive than other aquariums of the same caliber. Feeding events could use better sound, but the info is well presented. Also, found the areas outside of the exhibits to be messy, but that's really superfluous.
