Fantastic day out, May 6, it was a little rough going in but the crew were so helpful to everybody including those that were ill. Loved the dive and the snorkel experience and again the crew were so very helpful.
My girls and I loved the experience

Going to be honest we didn't have a great experience with these guys, signed up to go out to the yongala, having only open water cert we had to do the first dive as an adventure dive(deep dive). Because you have to go with an instructor for this we got stuck in a group with a very inexperienced diver who spent the first 15 minutes of our dive time trying to equalise at 5m. As we were in a group we had to wait for her, consequently we got cold doing nothing waiting below at 10m, used a good portion of our air/wasted dive time and could not properly enjoy the dive once we did finally get down there. For this reason we were rather looking forward to the second dive being able to go just as a duo, but unfortunately the 2nd dive was cancelled because of the very choppy entry and exit conditions. Overall was pretty dissappointed, I think a minimum dive requirement should probably exist or even have an extra instructor on board to cater for different levels of experience and create more groups. We were only refunded $50 each for the 2nd dive, was hoping for more than that since we missed out on half the experience. Wouldn't ever go with these guys again.

Fantastic experience with an amazing crew. Crew is very kind and pass out frequent healthy snacks. Crew is very helpful and fun and helped out several people who were a bit seasick. The reef is a bit far out from Townsville but totally worth it with some great snorkeling. We had an absolute blast and it was the highlight of our trip to Australia

I had a great time!
The staff was extremely friendly and comforting, the dive sites were interesting and by having to drive out with the boat for two hours makes it a really fun day trip. I would definitely recommend the dives, they re worth it, and i would definitely come back too!
Thanks for the experience :)

I was in contact with these folks before I arrived on from 8,000 miles away. They had a spot for me. When I tried to confirm with them a couple days before arrival I couldn't get a response. I trusted them and showed up in Townsville. The second morning I was in town I arrived bright and early and they told me the dive was full. They said you can go on tomorrows dive. Then the they cancelled that dive because only 5 people signed up. Thank you for wasting about $1,000 for me. I should have skipped Townsville. Don't waste your time with Adrenalin Dive.

These guys go out of their way to make you feel at home. Educational, supportive and fun. Special shout out to Lisa, Action Ackim (probably spelled that incorrectly), and good ol skipper Reece. You guys were fantastic. Other blond guy. We heard you did good too.

Wonderful experience. Crew were professional and passionate. Reefs were in superb condition with heaps of marine life. Lunch was great and there were plenty of snacks to go around. Crew gave an excellent presentation on the reef. 5/5 would recommend to everyone.

The diving was the best and felt less tracked than the northern reefs.

The crew were friendly and helpful especially to the older and starting out divers who just needed that little bit more help.

The older boat has some short falls but they were well made up for by the diving and the crew.

Good value for money, would recommend them and I plan to go again.

Thanks for the great experience guys!!

Absolutely useless company. They had mechanical problems for weeks and only told us about it the day before our dive and cancelled on us. This meant that all the other dive companies were already booked out and our trip to Townsville was wasted. Disgusting behaviour from a diving company trying to money grub.

My partner and I just got back from the 3 day/3 night liveaboard and I must say it was not worth the cost. We had to hire our dive gear but owning our own fins and snorkel did not take money off the price of hire. They charge $10 per use of a dive torch for night dives hence why my partner and I invested in our own torches before the trip. If you aren t confident with your diving skills without a compus or detailed dive briefs this company is not recommended. At one point we were told to get in the water before a dive brief had been provided. The fist days dive sights were below average especially considering its a 6 hour boat ride out to the reef, you would expect higher quality. We were served off milk on numerous occasions and the food was below average for what we payed, although the company uses the skipper as a chef (which is not very professional) so cant expect too much of quality there. They did provide plenty of the food though regardless of quality. The dive trip in our opinion should have been cancelled due to poor weather. We were emailed the day before the trip asking if we could reschedule because of weather warnings and due too many people saying no they went ahead with the dive trip regardless of the weather warnings not changing/improving as my partner and I kept an eye on the warnings. It was too dangerous to move the boat on one of the nights and there was large waves and strong surface current on every single dive. People were awake vomiting every night, although a positive is the four man crew did help out those who were sick. Although having to share buckets to be sick in was also another negative as I am sure degradable bags could be provided. I did a similar liveaboard in Cairns for less money and there was plenty more staff (with a professional uniform) who were friendly and very helpful. They provided more equipment e.g compus for less money, had a chef on board to ensure you got your moneys worth and there was undisturbed sleep every night. My partner and I overall would have prefered the trip to be cancelled and to receive the full refund as the weather made it highly unenjoyable. I will say although the crew did not seem professional they were mostly friendly. Highly recommend people go with a different company.

Had an awesome day diving with Adrenalin Dive. Very fun and professional. Good communication. The crew was friendly and good for a laugh. Made for a fun day! We saw some whales on the way back and they turned around the boat to check out the whales

Cancelled at the last minute due to "ongoing mechanical issues". There was not even a simple apology. If there were ongoing mechanical issue, that would be good information to tell customers. Avoid at all costs.

Overall an unprofessional experience and not worth the money
It was extremely rushed and stressful
The boat was old, lacked maintenance, very noisy and extremely uncomfortable - considering it s a 2 hour journey each way.
No food provided due to COVID
Some staff were lovely and others just lacked experience
Scuba diving was a bit manic and a free for all
And to top it off one of the engines broke on the return journey, making it a 4 hour return trip
Wouldn t recommend

We had a wonderful day out snorkelling at John Brewer Reef. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and professional, it was a small group so it felt like we had the reef to ourself. The spot we went to had amazing coral cover and loads of different fish. It helped that the weather was amazing and the sea calm. I ve done a few snorkelling trips on larger boats which are less expensive but no where near as good as this trip.

Very polite staff but just couldn't get out and I was booked for three separate days none happened....apparently the weather wasn't right but I wonder if they just didn't have enough people to make it worth their while such a shame

The crew is amazing and the spots for snorkeling are stunning. I highly recommend it. The only thing they can improve is the lunch. It was a salad without any sauces, no pasta, no cheese and ham enough for everybody to make a sandwich etc.

They orchestrated a similar deception several years ago after I had booked months in advance to dive the Yongala wreck; cancelling my live-a-board two hours before embarking on a flight to Townsville. They also had the audacity to ring me at Yongala Dive after the end of my dive, and ask if I would be interested in going to the reef the following day.

Will cancel trips last minute for no reason - nonweather related cancellation. No sympathy or customer service from this company. Cancelled our dive the evening before the trip with no solutions whatsoever.

Purchased flights and hotel to dive the yongala and was guaranteed twice over the phone that our trip wasn t going to be cancelled. Afterwards they sent an email (copout) cancelling the trip saying it was due to limited numbers even though I d spoken to them earlier.

They offered no solution even though we had spent over $1000 on flights and hotel to dive. They showed zero sympathy for ruining our entire trip and my birthday.... don t go unless you want your holiday ruined.

My daughter and I went out with this dive charter yesterday 9/8. All I can say is what a fantastic experience. We had a great day. Staff on the boat were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The boat was well equipped and very easy to dive off. The reef was awesome. I highly recommend this company and will dive with them again. Thanks so much for a memorable day

Great trip out to the SS Yongala. The vessel is small so suggest ALL the seasickness medications. I had some issues with the dive (and seasickness) and felt that we were well assisted and looked after by the crew. What an amazing place to dive!

I recently did PADI Open Water Dive course with Adrenalin and after completing the confined water component at the local pool I boarded the MV Sea Esta for a 3 night 3 day live aboard dive trip.

I'm 58 years old and had never dived before so I was a little nervous. The crew really looked after me and gave me the confidence I needed to complete the course and earn my certification. The other divers were also very encouraging and friendly and there was a great social vibe throughout the trip.

The skipper Paul was unbelievably knowledgeable and all Adrenalin staff were friendly, experienced and supportive, and there was a clear focus on safety on every dive. I would recommend taking seasickness medication along as we encountered a decent swell at times (possibly up to 2m) while in open ocean moving between different dive sites, so I was glad I had it with me. I took it at night before going to sleep so not to be affected by drowsiness prior to diving. I was prepared for the conditions so my enjoyment of the trip was not diminished.

The dive sites didn't disappoint, with amazing corals and an abundance of beautiful fish and other marine life: I experienced some truly magical places! I didn't end up diving the Yongala wreck on the final day as I was feeling tired but I'm very keen to go back for a day trip soon.

This was a budget trip so the vessel is not luxurious, and while the food wasn't fancy it was good and plentiful. It's an older boat but absolutely adequate. This trip was really good value for money and I will definitely be doing it again.

Thank you Adrenalin Snorkel & Dive for a wonderful experience

Honestly this is one of the best dive companies I have ever gone out with. There are SO MANY good things I could say but I ll focus it on incredible customer care from each of the employees! Especially Gunston, he s the man! I saw some of the coolest marine life I ve ever seen thanks to this company! I d recommend them to absolutely everyone and if I end up back in Townsville I ll absolutely use them again! Food was delicious too!

A fantastic day, with fantastic crew. Snorkeling the Reef was so beautiful (and warm in winter due to the provided wetsuits) and the staff were very knowledgeable and very safety conscious to ensure everyone had an amazing day. Equipment was all in great condition and they offered a wide variety of food throughout the day to suit anyone's taste, with more than enough to go around. Will definitely head out again with Adrenalin - great value for money.

A truly terrible experience. Way too many people on a much too small boat. 3 hours each way to get to the reef with no good place to sit. More than half the guests was throwing up the entire trip.

Breakfast consisted of 2 pieces of fruit. Divemaster/instructor was not included in the price, and they didn t care to give us any directions other than swim that way .

The gear was decent and some of the crew members were indeed quite nice, but this was by far the worst day we had on our trip.
To top it off, it was the most expensive dive as well.

Choose another company or consider diving another place closer to the reef.

Completed my open water scuba course here (instructor was Achim). Staff were very friendly, professional, humourous and really made an effort to get to know you. They put a lot of effort in to ensure that you enjoy your time both in and out of the water. Reef was beautiful and teeming with life. Would definitely recommend adrenaline.

We booked our tour for three and all three were thrilled! The staff was great and there is something for everyone (if you can eat anything else;) do not underestimate the swell!) We were with adrenaline snorkel & dive at the SS YONGALA WRECK and it was just awesome. It was only possible for us, Open Water Diver 'to dive (accompanied) to this incredibly beautiful place and to explore the multiple and infinitely wide water world. Everyone on board has gone to a lot of trouble !!

Flew all the way from the United States to dive on the Great Barrier Reef. From start to finish we had a great experience! My wife had to get her open water certificate, and I had to renew mine after years of not diving. Even from across the globe they were helpful and answered all my inquiries. The experiance when we got to Townsville was even better, my wife finished the pool work like it was nothing thanks to her instructor Achim. Even on the first night everyone felt like family, the crew was personable, conversational, professional, and over all just great individuals. The dive sites were great and teaming with fish, the night dives were a new twist for me, and the S.S. Yongala was amazing! I felt that safety was #1 priority, and at no time did I feel uncomfortable.
