I don't like the fact that taxes is added during each weekly payment.Once approved, why not add everything with taxes. When I go online to pay something ahead of time,I'm always charged taxes. Then I have to figure out what I need to pay & taxes.Example:If my budget is to pay $100,once I put amount in,it's $107.Then I have to go back & play with the numbers to get as close to $100 as possible. And it can be tricky. If you have 60-90 days for early pay off,why not set payments for 60-90 days. The amount I was paying weekly did not add up to full payment owe within 60-90 days. At the end of those days, you will have an outstanding balance & if it's not paid, then interest starts occurring & you will be owing double of the amount. Thank God it's paid out though.

I had been to many, many furniture stores and looked for several weeks. I finally made it to Home Zone and checked out what furniture they had. I was immediately drawn to this big couch and the price. It had everything I was looking for and was comfortable to boot. The financing through Acima was quick and easy and I had the option of paying it off early with no interest attached if I did so. I have been very pleased with the out come and the service received from both the employees at HZ and the financing through Acima. My questions where all answered and taken care of. I will recommend both to friends and family. Thank you for the great experience you have given me. May you be blessed. Nancy Williams

Acima doesn't deserve any stars not from me. Everytime I made a payment an extra 20$ -30$ was added to my balance. Like I wouldn't notice as the customer I'm paying my balance down and it's going back up after a few days I come back to check my account. Ended up paying triple the amount for a used raggedy washer and dryer. Never will I ever use acima again. Folks you are better off using rent a center. After your 90 days they add loads of extra fees and interest Definitely Not Worth It!!!

Update on my previous review of Acima. See below for my previous review.

Today I received a response from Acima on my previous review, saying to call them so they can fix the issue. The number they gave me was the regular number you would call in, not a priority number for complaints or anything. A lady answered, I told her I m calling because I wrote a review and your company responded and told me to call this number. She said we get these calls all the time, you can ignore that email that they told you to call us . So she just confirmed that they really don t care. Still, no response from the CEO or his executive office either.

Interest is already high, but fees will kill you even for a simple mistake
I had 3 accounts with Acima, one I did an early payoff. The other 2 I had automatic bi weekly payments. My bank sent me a new bank card and I didn't even think to call Acima or go online, I was so used to it being automatic. After a few weeks, I noticed that my bank account didn't show any payments for them so I quickly logged in and immediate made payments on both accounts. My mistake for not changing it sooner but I did the right thing by paying the moment I found out I didn't pay yet. But noticed $150 in fees! I called customer service and they guy made me feel like I was dumb for paying, he said I should have called first (numerous times he said this). I said I was freaked out and made a payment right away to not run into any issues. I asked for at least some fees back, I'll take the responsibility but felt unfair to be charged $150 in fees for a 2 accounts that are $31 payments each. He said no, can't refund but if you had called first I could have helped you. Like I was suppose to know? And for doing the right thing, you can't help me? I emailed the CEO to complain twice, and yet no response from him and it's been over a week. Terrible, I will pay off these 2 accounts and never use them again and I would suggest the same for you. The interest rate is high already and for a simple mistake, it can cost you!

I've had to had help with my rims and tires two times. First time, the payments were affordable. Different company. This time i was handcuffs. I had no options and had to go with Acima. Called and tried to get my payment that would fit in my budget and was told they wouldn't help me. Pretty much "it is what it is." If you have time, there are better options out there. If you are in a bind like i was; they will work.

Ok hear me out this will be my first and final time leasing with this company. First of all to get approved you have to pay $50-$55 up front, and that will not go towards your lease it s just to get approved! then you will be charged weekly from your debit/credit card on which you payed the $50-$55 mind you they charge TAXES! You then will be given a chance to pay the original cost of the item you purchased in 90 DAYS! 90 DAYS! To pay your remaining balance BUT IF YOU FAIL TO PAY WITHIN The 90 day mark let me just tell you the interest will be more expensive than the actual item itself! They will never call you to let you know when your lease is almost up i mean why would they this is how they make their money! If you get sick loose your job they won t care you have 90 days no EXCEPTIONS! this is coming from someone that payed in full before the 90 day mark so i m glad that s over never again i rather save my coins and pay cash!

PREDATORY LENDER!!! My son bought tires for $1800. He put $800 down and financed $1000 with Acima. He's paid about $1200 since April, but somehow still has a $1400 balance?!?! This should be illegal.

The Acima Lease to own seems like a predator lending practice hiding under a vail of an affordable payment option.

In my case I purchased something through there lease to own program for around $1500.00 the total payments will have me paying over $3000.00 in total in 12 months effectively a 100%APR. This is due to the fact they "increase the price of the item purchased" I believe they are using this to circumvent the military lending act. Because the total price of the item purchased "goes up" every 30 days. I then continue to pay tax on item based off a essentially fictional price. I payed tax at the point of sale for for $1500 purchase yet I continue to pay more and more tax with them. I had to finance the tax at point of sale then they continue to charge me tax as well.
