Acheney Review

Be prepared to not only pay a monthly pet fee if you have a pet, but then lose about 30% if not more of your security deposit to cleaning and carpet cleaning fees from a Company called Endeavor Realty. When I reached out to Debbie Wilson to discuss I was told "I don't know anything about the cleaning business". I asked to speak to Endeavor Realty directly, she said that was not possible. I asked for a meeting and was given 9 minutes to discuss then was told she had another meeting that was apparently more important. I have rented 2 apartments from them over the past 5 years and in total have paid out about $1000 in non refunded security deposit. Long story short, its unfortunate that a company like this exists in such a great community. If possible I would avoid this company at all cost.

Absolutely terrible. Accused of having a pet and taken damage from Security deposit receiving basically nothing from a check that should have been $1600. They don t do maintenance on appliance that s there s and calling them for any concerns is rendered useless. Attitudes are rude and don t even bother with a Debra. Relentless on wiping your pockets dry. Town is great but doesn t compensate.

Cheney has been a great place to rent from! The apartments are nice, staff are friendly, $rent is competitive, maintenance and snow removal are quick to respond. We have been here a few years now and it has been a good locations for grad students--nice and quiet, short walk to bus.

These people are amazing!! We ve only been here for just over a week and Lisa has responded quickly to every one of our requests. Shanne, the maintenance manager, genuinely cares about making sure that things are in good working order. He just left a minute ago after cleaning out our dryer vent and reattaching the dryer. They also had our carpets cleaned the day after we moved in because my wife had smelled urine. I didn t smell it at first, but I checked the spots she marked with painters tape and it was definitely urine. Lisa and Shanne responded the same day I told them of the smell and the next day they had our carpets cleaned. It doesn t smell any more. They have done other small things as well, while we work out the kinks of moving into a new place. All in all, I am highly impressed with their responsiveness, professionalism and quality of service.

I've rented from Cheney quite a bit over the last 20 years. Staff is very pleasant, maintenance is quick to respond, and units and grounds were always well maintained. We recently decided it was time to go back to ownership and used their buyer's agent service. Deb and Lisa made it a tolerable process, arranging viewings, explaining stuff along the way, and helping us find a home with all the stuff on our want list. Deb even contacted us while she was on vacation to see how things were going! I highly recommend this service for anyone looking to get out of renting.

I lived in a Cheney-managed apartment for a year and had a great experience. Always friendly staff and easy move in and move out. If I find myself in Newmarket again, I'll absolutely rent with them again.

They are nice places unfortunately The Cheney Company has built up most of Newmarket and all the people who live there do not pay property taxes and all the children that live there go to our schools and the land owners that have no children are paying extremely high taxes for those that do not! Find a way to make it fair for everyone that has lived in this town before Cheney built, the Lamprey river is completely covered with his condos and is no longer a quiet place to go fishing! Newmarket has extremely high taxes due to all of The Cheney Condos

I really enjoyed living in my Cheneyco apartment. The office staff is very friendly, and so are the maintenance people. Phones were always answered and emails were always responded to.

The apartments are very reasonably priced, and are well maintained. Ours (on River St) had an amazing view of the lamprey river, a great yard, and a deck/raft for water access. Snow removal is very well done, and they came multiple times per storm.

Thought when I moved in that this place would be amazing. I had mice and squirrels in my apartment and mold growing on the ceilings in every room and in my closet. Their answer was to spray paint it, which shockingly did nothing.
They'll also wait until the last day they can legally refund your deposit, which will be guaged for as much as they can possibly take out. So disappointed.

We were denied she said my credit score did not meet the minimum requirement of 650. My score was 647 and after her inquiry it caused my score to drop by 69 points. I check it daily. Had I known i would not have applied and we requested a refund. We were denied.

I then called the Newmarket office this morning to inquire and talked to the agent, LISA, she stated that she would not refund my application. I told her they should have been more transparent about their minimum requirement and she said that their web site clearly dates to call and ask.

My daughter who is co-applicant did call about renting g their u it and still never a mention of their minimum requirements. I guess you have to drag it out of them. she hung up on me. So there s goes my $100 deposit?! I m not upset we got denied. I m upset she was t more transparent about the credit score. How is this FAIR HOUSING PRACTICE?
