Aalto-Musiktheater Review

On Sunday we wanted to watch the Magic Flute and were really surprised that there is a parking garage right there and free of charge. The atmosphere in the Aalto Theater is pleasant

Architecturally the best theater in the Ruhrgebiet. The program is currently not always good.

Very good theater Eisen Fei Harmoni is the first one, this is the second one. Come to listen to the concert after work and study. It s really good. You can get student tickets for 10 yuan, but the popular shows are still expensive.

Schwanensee ballet: performerance on international level.

Except for the seats, some of which I can only say good things that need renovation. An architecturally beautiful house, good sound, excellent ballet performances and operas.

Every year in the dark seasons, the cultural evenings here are like fireworks for the senses.
The art-loving public travels from afar as you can hear the license plates in the parking garage and the dialect during small talk during the break.
What unites the Aalto Theater in Essen, the Semper Opera in Dresden and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg?
They are places of joy and encounter for people who look forward to maximum cultural enjoyment and who take a lot of energy and inspiration from a performance. They are the fountain of youth for a great many human souls.

Leading opera house in the area. To contemporary works (almost) everything in the repertoire. Culture-place-to-be.

It was a guided tour of almost all departments that enthused. Especially the technique was fascinating.

The new, large opera house in Essen. Well-maintained, nice reception, nice acoustics, chic interior design. Big stage. Great, alternating operas. Is right next to the Essen city park. Accessible by tram or subway, as the stop is approx. 100 m from the building (Hyssenallee) or 50 m at the rear of the building.

Was today at Rock Around Barock by Mallet! That was awesome I can only recommend!

I was in the ballet twice. I highly recommend. No matter if young or old. Wardrobe is free. Beverages are sold before the event and during the break.

Very well. Above all, the hygiene measures are perfect.

Saw a production of "Die Zauberfloete".The production was great.Excellent artists and beautiful costumes made for a great evening

Seats are spaced in such away that there is ample room for legs.The wardrobe takes care of coats without fee.

** ... a small town with many great people who deserve their name !!! Ballet, orchestra, technology, stage and many other areas let the theater live and give it its charm & magic which always awakens to new life there, like the phoenix from the ashes :-)

Have seen 2 operas, each with a good production, good singers and excellent acoustics. Great house. Interesting architecture. Are very satisfied and would love to come back.

My daughter was there in Queen and she liked it very much because of her 5 stars

A great performance: Rock aroun Baroque. Worth seeing!

Ballet and opera house with a very good program and a great ballet ensemble. Here I have been a regular guest for over 20 years. The cheapest tickets for just over 20 euros you can afford well in between and still has a good view of the stage and a great cultural experience.

We were in Carmen. Successful evening, great opera, who likes this music should go here. Staff super friendly. Keep it up.

Architectural highlight in Essen's southern district. It was built into the city garden at the beginning of the eighties and now forms one of the cultural centers of the city with the philharmonic hall in the hall building. Performances of all kinds are a pleasure if the artistic concept fits within the given framework.

Were there to the magic flute there. We liked it very much. The scenery is really great and a real eye-catcher. But the hospitality is in need of improvement. You stand for a long time so that almost the break is over again. And when it's your turn, half is already sold out. Especially the pretzels seem to be popular.
The bottom line is a nice evening.

A really nice house. Very good acoustics. An interesting game plan. For the most part, good productions. A good solid ensemble. Outstanding soloists. Always very good guests. I recommend everyone to get a subscription. Full points.

The best thing is the architecture and the ambience. Regardless of that I thought 3Ekman was great as a ballet!

Timeless elegance inside thanks to the curved galleries, great feeling of space in the foyer, outside terrace in warm weather, always fresh atmosphere in the hall, cozy leather armchairs, access also via the integrated underground car park, elevators to every floor, the introductory lectures are recommended 30 minutes before Beginning

Have a look at the Rigoletto, price performance is great. The opera house perfectly maintained, good buffet and good reception.

The only drawback is, at least in this idea, the acoustics, the volume was very low so there was no stirring feeling.

A little louder would be nice

Even if the stage design in the Aalto Theater is often criticized due to a certain sparse and modern style, we love the opera house very much. Building optics, acoustics, concert hall, varied program, we like it a lot. For example, the Verdi operas "La Traviata" and "Luisa Miller" leave nothing to be desired in terms of the scenery, the latter even offers real horses on stage! Also nice is the location of the balcony with a summery view of the city garden and the neighboring Philharmonie.

Operas are not my thing, but the acoustics are great.

The Aalto Theater is always worth a visit, the operas are wonderfully staged ... every time a surprise ....

Aalto's super architecture paired with professional performances. Definitely recommended who is interested in art, architecture and music.

Great Finnish architecture, I recommend a guided tour that is offered on a regular basis.
