It's an incredible theater. The performances, whether opera or ballet, are a fireworks display for the senses. Man is caught by the voices, acting, set design. The house is secret! No prototype - simple elegance - nice hospitality.
The theater as always great, from all places good view and best sound.
Essen can be proud of its diverse cultural landscape
A fantastic theater. You just have to have experienced it yourself.
I like to go there again and again. Today it was "Lohengrin" Great!
Wonderful architecture, the program has something for every taste - modern as well as more classical productions for dance and opera
Schwankender was just great, would like to visit this theater again and again
An architecturally, acoustically and stage-wise outstanding building that is worth a tour behind the scenes.
The well-coordinated and varied opera, ballet and dance theater program draws us back to the mostly outstandingly cast and staged pieces every year. Highly recommended!
Nice theater in the middle of Essen with very good traffic connections, also public transport. The atmosphere is personal to me Schicki-Micki. In the foyer area, also down in front of the wardrobe seating would make sense.
Very nice house with great programs. Highly recommended
The aalto theater is beautiful, classy and well organized. Unfortunately, the evening was due to the view (but the fourth place in row 8 to the outside - No.47,48,49,50) a pure disappointment! 110 per ticket and the More
Good atmosphere throughout the house. Class acoustics in the hall
Fantastic scenery and atmosphere ... great lighting effects and a breathtaking piece ... the Nutcracker ...
Rock around Baroque: A very nice experience. Empathic artists, classical and rock music, ballet and dance and a great and versatile set design. Of particular note is the flexibility and responsiveness of the management. We were so scary and missed the originally booked event and were allowed to choose an alternative. 1000 thanks for that.
The program offers something for everyone, the possibility to park in the parking garage free of charge is very advantageous, the only minus point is the breaks catering ... a long bar with staff who does not lack politeness but a little practice in the speedy service of the guests , Anyone who approaches with peace, however, has the opportunity to take a drink during the break.
Very nice program, unfortunately in Corona times with a shortened version. We would like to come back. Good acoustics, nice ambience
A great opera house with an excellent ensemble and balanced program. So far, we have never been disappointed (opera performances) and have enjoyed every evening. Many thanks to the entire music theater team !!!!
Very nice opera theater with high quality performances at reasonable prices. A minor flaw: Apparently there is only 1 coffee maker for all visitors who want coffee.
A beautiful theater. You should use the open house, where you can also take a look "behind the scenes". The tour through the basement is also highly recommended.
One of the most beautiful opera houses in the world.
As far as ballet in the Ruhr area is concerned: unbeatable. Thanks to Ben van Cauvenbergh and first-class ensemble.
One of the best opera houses in North Rhein Westphalia
A very nice performance.
We enjoyed it again. There should only be more places for the disabled.
The theater with probably the best acoustics! Many nationally acclaimed productions.
Great program. Nice classical ballet. Free parking for theater goers directly on site.
Nice hall, good service, parking garage on the square
It was my first time in this music theater. It was very impressive. My girlfriend and I watched the ballet piece Odina. The drinks were a bit expensive. The atmosphere for top. If you're passionate about ballet, be sure to visit this music theater.
Optimal access directly from the underground garage via stairs or even with a lift directly dry feet in the foyer!
There very nice well-kept atmosphere.
Nice service at the cloakroom, free of charge.
Top well-kept toilets.
Theater interior super laid out, so you have good view of the stage from every seat (I was parquet left row 17)
Very good acoustics!
La Boheme by Puccini was once played by the orchestra and the actors.
Apart from the first stage set, which is authentic to the then miserable garret of Paris in 1830, the other sets were unfortunately rather peculiarly transferred to the modern age.
Even if you now willing to exchange the presented homely atmosphere of the former district of Latins and its pubs with a super modern bar with all modern harassment at least 5 m long rolls on stage, it is then very sparse. Scenes that actually take place in an artists' pub are shown on the street, from which it goes via a drop staircase into the invisible pub actually planned in the play.
On the street above it is monotonous, dark and cold. Some large cable drums are around, which did not exist at the time. In the background you can see the lights of Paris and artificial snow.
Even the deathbed of the terminally ill protagonists is being driven up on the street here ....
Musical representation always great
For most productions, it's better to close your eyes
Located on the edge of the city park, the Aalto Theater is an architectural gem. Like all theaters, it suffers badly from Corona! It is rehearsed but unfortunately not played at the moment! We are looking forward to the time after Corona and hope that the whole rehearsal will be worthwhile for everyone, actors and audience! First of all, a warm applause for the perseverance!
Free your car in the parking garage under the theater was already a luxury and a taste of the theater itself; Classic, great seats, nice acoustics, beautiful room and everything well cared for.
Stunning theatrical performance in the fate of the fate of Otello and Desdemona
Don Quixote for children was a wonderfully child-friendly staging. All the children and the grown-ups were happy to Rosinante. Thanks to all and so on from an enthusiastic grandmother
A.very nice building, a good hall, everything ok. A bit too pure, not charming.
The acoustics were partly miserable, just as some speech passages were indistinctly presented. Outstanding were Papgeno, Pamina, Sarastro and also Papagena. I was disappointed by the queen of the night, who was unclean in height. To praise are the choir and the stage design.
I've been at the Aalto Theater Essen for more than 10 years and I'm still happy to have such a cultural asset in the city of Essen.
The theater is still beautiful. The performance (Land of Smiles) grotesque.
A very nice house. And we really enjoyed the performance we were at.
Ballet and opera performances great, very good powers.
I love the small and very familiar theater. The acoustics are good and the view of even cheaper places is great. Only the air conditioning is terrible. Have seen some performances there and can only recommend it
Very nice theater in Essen city center next to a park
Great architecture, very good orchestra and ballet. Always worth a visit.
A very nice theater - most of the productions are worth seeing!
