Went two years here back in 1990's, cost was great and I enjoyed going here more than I did at Salisbury State. The teachers were supportive and the class sizes were smaller than a big university.
Would recommend to anyone!!!!

The staff is terrible and really don't care about you or anyone else I have went in to talk to a counselor and they definitely roll their eyes at me as I was walking in when they were talking amongst themselves. Personally I've spent a lot of money to do these classes and I would hate to see my money go to waste with the lack of effort these counselors and staff members are putting in when their paycheck comes from my tuition. Professors are definitely a hit-or-miss, I've had great professors and then I've had a really terrible ones. Also the food is overpriced and it's gross just as bad as public school. Personal tutors could be better as well they're just students that are probably in your class trying to teach you the lesson and they can care just as less as the professor and the staff so it's pointless to go. In the summer classes you have 2 days to figure out if you want drop the class and get a refund, personally that's not enough time to figure out if I need to drop the class. People are going to do what they want anyways so take this comment how you want....

This is my first class at AACC online and it is awful. I originally went to the main campus to be told the wrong hours about advising. Then to be to be locked out of my AACC portal. Now locked out of my textbook. The campus and staff overall are very unorganized and disconnected to real issues on and off campus. I will continue driving 30 minutes to Howard community college :)

I attended their Dental Assistant Program and finished the course. But to my disappointment, I felt the course lacked alot of "hands on training. Knowing what I know now, I would advise others to invest more money into their education and look into a technical school. At least you walk away with a sense of confidence that you'll be able to perform such duties because of the hands on training. Also, finding employment opportunities will be alot easier. After all, that's the goal!

Staff help you out so much. You just have to be smart enough to ask for help from the professors. But the activities are lacking and I wish it felt like a community rather than you by yourself.

I love Anne Arundel Community College. I am a returning student back in school to get a teaching certificate, and I've had a great experience. The classes are small and the teachers are attentive. I already have a BA in Journalism and did all four years at the same college, but had I known what a good school AACC is, I would have started here.

I've been an international student at AACC for a year now. Emma Thompson, responsible for international students, is phenomenal and made everything so easy for me to study here in the United States! She is very communicative and remembers everyone including their names. 9.5/10 times the advisors will always give you the best advise, and show you the right direction for your career path. The Arnold campus' gym and pool is on point. AACC offers a 7 to 1 ratio in classes, which means seven students to one teacher. My biggest class only had 12 students. My teachers were knowledgeable, interactive, and helpful. I've only had a problem with one teacher.

For my computer science information class during the Spring 2015 term I had Professor Penny Foster. She didn't teach us anything throughout the entire semester and I felt as though I wasted my money on a class I was originally very excited for. On the first day she mentioned she had been teaching the class for 40 years, and that we would be building an entire PC ourselves. Second class she gave us Microsoft Word lessons on Microsoft access, PowerPoint and excel with a chapter project from the book she made us read. I then realized this class wasn't going to be on hardware but on software instead. And indeed it did, this went on throughout the entire semester. Never has she stood in front of the class or had any legitimate answer to anyone's question about the lessons we were doing or on computers. When I did ask questions, she would come to my computer and do the work herself without explaining what she was doing. There where days where she wouldn't show up to our once a week classes, while never telling us when class was canceled. Even though having experienced this awful teacher, this didn't change my opinion of AACC. The students in my class made it worth it as we helped each other learn. Everybody has passed the class due to our study groups. We all strive for success here and our atmosphere is very welcoming! I highly recommend you attend Anne Arundel Community College.

They misplaced my records with someone else with my name & don't know where my record is. So, they were amazed when I took classes I technically wasn't ready for and passed them. Now, I'm sitting here waiting for them to call me with "good" news.

Update to above: I called & e-mailed all summer & got nowhere until I was finally able to get in there & talked to the same advisor. They told me "Sorry, couldn't reply been busy. But, we think we got your credits back in order." But told me to redo the placement tests because they don't look right & get a copy of my high school transcripts because they lost them too. I was able to sign up for 2 courses (but they charged me a late fee even though I signed up late because of them & I had to pay $5 for a copy of my high school transcript even though I think AACC should pay that because they lost them.)

My favorite repeated line I kept getting for this whole ordeal was "If it makes you feel any better, you're not the first student this has happened to."

I attend school here January 2018 - Present waited a few months to give an honest review. I was extremely lost this being my first college experience.. I went to take my placement tests at the GBTC testing area after I finished I spoke to an advisor. She told me i had to take a certain placement and I quote "I expect you to fail miserably" and she is supposed to be an advisor, just disrespectful and unhelpful! My professors are the only reason this review has these three stars they are wonderful, informative, and want you to succeed. They have 3 separate campuses which now I dislike. People say it isn't that far but with all the traffic just tedious going from one college to the other. I'm considering transferring to a different school after this. Dont expect to get a full college experience you will definitely feel like youre on your own.

The staff are not as knowledgeable as they should be in order to help the students. I called financial aid today and the first woman could not help me whatsoever. I was on hold for another 40 mins before someone picked up the phone to assist me.

Best Community College. The experience, the teachers, the staff, the students, and all the clubs makes this a college experience of all ages. It's never too late to go to school.Professors from universities make this a university education at a fraction of the price. Check out the pool and gym.

I really enjoy working out at the track on summertime weekends. It's a great place to walk or jog, plus you can do stairs on the bleachers or walk around the campus. My kids take summer and winter classes here as well so an all around great and friendly asset to the community.

I had a very dissapointing experience and first impression of this college. We were told advising is walking from 9 to 1pm just a day prior and after driving an hr to get there at 11:20am , I was told they stopped taking students at 11 am. The woman at the advising front desk was insensetive, dismissive and did not care to hear anything. What a poor way to welcome someone who was there for the first time.

Great college because of the content and price. It's very cheap to take classes here, they are generous with financial aid, and they have tons of student resources which are all free. All 4 professors I have had are great. This is a great place to start off your college education.

There are some decent teachers, but leaves a lot to be desired. The main issue comes from the working parts of the school such as advising and admissions, you cannot count on these guys to get ANYTHING RIGHT and it doesn't help that I had to retrieve my former records from other schools and to make it worse? They can't be counted on to keep details straight and it feels like they do not care.

I will have to agree with Carmen Wright below. The Caucasian lady at the front desk in Advising was not welcoming, and disengaged. She did appear dismissive and uninterested in answering any questions, and would not offer any suggestions as to what you were asking. She would just stare at you like a deer in headlights. It was very intimidating. I remember thinking that I do not want to attend a college with people like that working in Advising . That is a critical point at the college. I was taken aback by this, as this was my first visit to the college as well. I had heard it was a good college to attend for extensive programs, and couldn't believe they had someone that was this unhelpful representing Advising or the college. On a positive note, the advisor was patient and very helpful. So helpful, that I kept her contact info for future visits. She actually had to come up to the front desk to make sure that I was being taken care of and that all information was relayed correctly, because the lady at the front desk was confusing me and not clear on certain things she was telling me.

Altogether, I would give a 4.5 rating. The only bad experience I have had was when I first went to admissions at the Arundel Mills location and had the worst experience. The ladies were rude at the front desk and assumed that I speak "admissions or college" terms as a person who has never attended college before. And when I asked questions, two of them at the front would show facial expressions of irritation which made me feel uncomfortable. So, unfortunately they are the painted faces of the school. Other than that, since I have been attending classes for 2 semesters, the professors are great and help whenever and wherever help is needed.

I have friends who have been to big universities and come back to AACC talking about the tight nit easy to reach professors. The small classrooms make a difference. I've had far more excellent professors than average ones. It's nursing program is extremely tough but in state hiring from AACC nursings students are very high. We come out strong.

I enrolled at AACC as an adult pursuing a 2nd degree. I've been very impressed with the quality of the faculty, staff and education. Some of the profs in my lower level courses (cyber security major) needed some help with organization, but for the courses that really matter, the faculty have been absolutely top notch. My wife started here and transferred to UMUC, and firmly believes she learned much more from AACC.

I enjoyed my time at AACC, it was very wonderful. I had great teachers and amazing peers. The campus is nice and growing. My only issue is that they didn't have my major (computer/electrical engineering.) Aside from that, it's a great place to learn and get your education.
