A Door to Italy Review

I am very happy with this school. Everyone is super nice and the classes were well organized. In addition, the city is super charming and not expensive. The school is located not far from the city center, which is very convenient. The school is very clean and the accommodation they offered me was wonderful! The rent price was right, the apartment is in a quiet location with a super nice view from the terrace, the owner is a lady "nonna italiana" with lovely colleagues. I am very happy with it and highly recommend this school.
The only downside: after the corona, the class may not be full enough, if you're all alone in the class, the duration of the class will be shortened every day. However, I understand the school well, especially with the teachers who are very pedagogical (especially those from 9h-10h40 :)

A very good language school.
I went here for 8 weeks, starting with a moderate understanding of Italian and building confidence when speaking and with grammar. They are very flexible and helpful, with small (maximum 8 pupils in my classes) class sizes and a range of teachers. Grammar teaching is integrated into other activities so is less rigid than some language schools I have been to which do 2 hours of grammar and 2 hours of language production (speaking and writing) per day. The teachers and admin staff are all very helpful and friendly and all in all I would definitely recommend this school.

Only 10 hours of Individual Course did a world of good to me. All I could say before I take this course was only Ciao and several other greetings. Now I can order food efficiently and moreover, I learned intonations so I can speak Italian with more confidence. Excellent teachers can be a great help to your own needs and wants. Especially thanks to Federica, my learning Italian here became quite fruitful and I enjoyed all the process.

* Summary *: if you would like to learn or improve your Italian do it in this school! I took a three week intensive course with 8 individual lessons. Here are some reasons to do it with "A door to Italy":

-Teachers follow a very modern teaching method (I can say that being a teacher too.

-The groups are very small, so you could learn a lot.

-The exercises are very varied. (learn listening, literature or speaking in fun ways)

-The school environment is very familiar, so everything is organized so easily.

-Individual lessons are highly recommendable, because you only do the esersici that help you make big steps.

-Genoa is a wonderful city with a lot of things to see.

I went to a group lesson for 3 years.
Depending on the period, the number of people in the group will increase or decrease from 2 to 10 people.
I tend to be a relatively small class, and there were 2 to 4 people, so I could ask more questions and improve quickly.
I was able to communicate with Italian friends in Italian before going to school, but I had never studied grammar or reading and writing,
I sometimes felt a difference in level with students in the same group.
When you feel bored, you can ask a higher class, move to another group,
I was grateful to have been able to respond to the occasional change.
I think the teacher's level is very high. Young teachers may feel bored in how to proceed with classes, but if they prepare for a lot of questions after preparing for the class, they will inflate the class and teach them very seriously.

When Japanese people live in Italy, they are more likely to have trouble when applying for a visa or residence permit.
I found that the original rental contract was necessary for visa application in Japan, and when I consulted the school, I contacted the landlord and sent me the document by DHL,
When there was a problem with the renewal of the residence permit, I had a great time working together to solve the problem.
I thought it was good for school.

The best school ever, the best atmosphere. Every day I spent there was amazing and I will always remember it. Great lessons and now I know that Italian is just this school. Big applause :)

The school is very pleasant, spacious, airy, with great structure. The teachers are friendly and very prepared to pass the content in a light and interesting way. It was the best option I found in Genoa!

I stayed at "A door to Italy" for about half a year. First I took grouplessons and later individual classes. I can highly reccomend the school. In my opinion all the teachers are very capable and teach in different styles and methods. Means as much as you cover a lot of ground and find for sure teachers and methods you learn best with. They are reliable but have an easy way of organizing for example individual classes. I would always go back and take more classes there.
