Best running store ever. I bought my marathon shoes at this store. My wife and I went on training runs with the owners and the store run club. So much fun.

New kid on the block with a dedicated staff who provide excellent service! The perfect place for all of your running needs. Cal spent a condiderable amount of time with me to ensure I had the right shoes for my marathon training. He nailed it! They feel awesome during my training runs this past week!

My experience with 847 Running Co. has always been excellent. I'd go nowhere else for running shoes but here. They are able to expertly fit you and assess your running style. I first met Kalan when preparing to run my first half marathon with my daughter. He not only sold me my first serious running shoes, but also continued to advise me on all the aspects of running a long distance race. Now, I am preparing to run my third half marathon. Thanks guys at 847! I meant for this to be a 5-star rating!

I had to hop on here and let everyone know about an amazing experience I had yesterday. I went to buy new gym shoes and made an appointment at 847 Running Company. Due to a house issue I had to bring my 18 month old with me, the owners were understanding and so kind and knowledgeable! They remeasured my feet to make sure I was wearing the right size post baby, and did a gait analysis. Not only did I walk out of there with a great pair of shoes that didn t make my ankles hurt, but I also got a really cute top, and 2 nursing sports bras that actually provide compression and support to my larger chest. Amazing! Can t wait to go back to check out more apparel.

Ironically, I decided I wanted to get back into running after cheering Nicole and Kalan on at their first marathon and half marathon in Rockford! I didn t know anything about running gear, nutrition, or even how to train properly. I realized my shoes had always been too small which is why my feet felt numb after runs! Whether it was in the store or through messaging the store, I received proper education on the right fit for my stride, recommendations on shoes, fitting for sports bras and guidance on my nutrition. Not to mention I became part of a running culture, signing up for races, following runner Instagrams and finding the courage to join group runs at my local run store. Nicole and Kalan have kept me running smart ever since!

As a runner, coach, and parent of a high school athlete, I look for a running store that not only has the expertise in fitting a runner/walker of ALL abilities, but MOST importantly cares about each person that walks (or runs ;)) in the door. 847 Running Company is the embodiment of all of these qualities - THANK YOU 847!!!

I ve gotten my running shoes from Nicole and Cal for the past several years. Most recently, during the Stay At Home order, Nicole came out to my home to help fit my special hard to fit feet. She was very accommodating and patient as I tried multiple options to find something that would work. Amazing service and expertise!

I had a wonderful experience getting new running shoes at 847 Running Company yesterday! Despite any difficulties inherent in fitting from 6 feet away, I felt totally taken care of. Nicole and Cal were very knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely interested in making sure that I got shoes that worked for me, even though I had absolutely no idea of what I was looking for (other than running shoes, of course). I couldn t recommend them more highly!!!

I have had nothing but a good experience with Kal, Nicole and their employees. They are honest, helpful and knowledgeable. They treat everyone with respect and want to make sure the product they want or need.

Wow! What an amazing experience. I ve never been truly fitted for a really great pair of running shoes and my experience for my first time was outstanding. The customer service is through the roof and the selection is awesome! Taylor was so helpful, knowledgeable, and nice. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get some great running shoes and gear. I m a novice runner, so you definitely don t need to be a marathoner to enjoy what this store has to offer. Highly recommend.

847 Running suggested a shoe and I ordered through them over the phone. When I received the shoes, I tried them on and was unsure about the fit. After back and forth calls and texts with Kal, he eventually told me to take them for a run and he would figure something out if I still didn't like them. I took them for a run and still didn't like them. When I attempted to contact Kal, he did not respond to my texts, calls, and voicemails, and I was stuck with the shoes. I will not recommend 847 Running.

My response: Thanks for identifying me by name. Anyone can Google me now and see that this is the only review I have online--which should say something.

There are numerous issues with 847 Running's response to my 1-star review. I'll address each one:

847 Running wrote: "As Kal mentioned at the start, try them out and if they don t work bring them back."

My response: I spoke with 847 Running (Nicole) on the phone and ordered the shoes over the phone because of COVID-19. I told 847 Running that I didn't want to come into the store for that reason--hence the call. This was in EARLY SEPTEMBER (happy to attach screenshots of texts and calls for date reference). They also offered to share a number of local running resources that they never followed through on providing.

847 Running wrote: "He (Kal) reached out to our rep in the interim, but she was on holiday break."

My response: What "holiday break"? Kal stopped returning my texts and calls in MID SEPTEMBER (again, happy to attach screenshots for reference). Is 847 Running suggesting to anyone reading this that this situation just occurred over the holidays? Because that would be a fabrication.

847 Running wrote: "Hope you can understand. I hope you will reconsider your 1-star review after being able text our personal cell, covering the shipping to your home, testing shoes out and still being able to bring them back."

My response: 847 Running chose to use a cell phone to do their business. Consequently, that's a business phone. I never asked anyone from 847 Running to use a personal number. And 847 Running ate the cost of shipping so a customer could eat the cost of shoes that he didn't want.

847 Running wrote: "We take our customer service seriously and go beyond what the big guys do."

My response: 847 Running's actions suggest otherwise. I would've happily deleted my 1-star review had 847 Running owned this situation and simply apologized. They did not. If they care about customer service, why did it take 3.5 months and an honest 1-star review for them to respond? I wrote the review (1/1/21) 3.5 months after the fact because what 847 Running did still bothered me. So, I wrote an objective review expressing what transpired.

847 Running still has my number if they want to make things right. I'm always open to dialogue and resolution (and no I don't mean anything related to refunds or exchanges because that's not what this situation is about anymore). I don't enjoy this conflict, especially in an online space, but what transpired needs to be addressed because it's not the way to run a local business, especially in an Amazon world.

Nicole listened to me, took one look at my feet, and knew just what I should try on. Thank you for the fitting and your patience while I decided which to buy. Had a great first run in my new shoes!

The folks who work there have deep knowledge in all of the running shoes they carry. They are very friendly, knowledgeable and respectful who would tell you what kind of shoe that is recommended especially Taylor. I ve been a loyal customer to them and appreciate every time I get running shoes. In addition, they have fun runs and demos on and off for all runners of all levels. Great small business to support.

This is my second shopping experience at this newly formed company and I have to say both Nicole and Kal rock! So friendly, welcoming and very knowledgable of their product! On my first visit I bought a pair of sneakers for me (I absolutely love them!) and then came back a second time with my daughter and husband as they both needed new sneakers. Nicole was great at making sure they had the proper fit and a shoe that would meet their needs. I also love how they are supporting other small businesses in the area by promoting their products in their store as well. This family owned business is really a part of the Libertyville community and I highly recommend them if you are in the need of new running shoes or other athletic wear. Oh and they also offer student discounts! Be sure to bring in the students in your home!! Shop small and give Nicole and Kal a try! You won't be disappointed!!

Taylor helped me pick out a pair of shoes today and I was blown away with the service, product knowledge, and attention to detail. She measured my feet, took care to watch me walk and run and assisted in suggesting multiple shoes to fit my comfort level. The store itself is very charming, with lots of cute gift ideas for running friends and family members. Highly recommend shopping here.

If you re looking to get a great pair of running shoes and have no idea what shoe is best for you, come to this store. Wouldn t doubt it s the best in the area and they were super friendly and personable. The owners took the time to evaluate what type of shoe I needed by doing running tests, and even let me custom order a color I liked. They also had super cute stickers, clothes, and definitely smell their candles while you re there! As a high-schooler the discount for being on the track team was also super nice! Definitely recommend this local shop to anyone! I never leave reviews but this place was worth the time and definitely worth yours!

Fitted me for my running shoes! Apparently I've been wearing the wrong type of shoes. Brooks Glycerin 17 have been amazing for me for the last few months. Employees were very attentive and knowledgeable on the running shoes and warm clothing I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone looking for a proper fit and great service.

I came in two weeks ago for a gait analysis for new running shoes. The people working here were so nice and helpful!! Best running shoes I have ever had and the person working with me even gave me advice on a training plan. 11/10 would come again :)

Nicole provided fantastic service. I m an out-of-town customer and she listened to my needs and walked me through my options. She took the time to send me photos of the shoes that were available in my size. I got amazing service and I m very thankful.

I was in the area and decided to check out their shoes, immediately I noticed the energy and good vibe that Kal had which makes them different from the big brands. Then he was working with some of the customers and his product knowledge and recommendations were awesome, it s like he s a shoe doctor!

The lady who assisted me was an experienced runner and took the time to explain how to get the best fit for my running style. They stock half-sizes and a wide range of shoes with different characteristics so this assistance was vital. My shoes fit perfectly and I strongly recommend 847 as they will take the time to help you make the best possible selection.

I was diagnosed with early Osteoarthritis in my knees. No shoes have helped my feet or knees until I was introduced to HOKA. This shoe is incredible. Nicole and Kalan told me about the drop heel and had me try them. I honestly feel like it s a miracle. Their recommendation fit me into a shoe that has taken all the pressure off my knees. My feet haven t been tired and I am able to stand and walk over 15,000 steps a day (says my Fitbit) . Without their willingness to find me the perfect shoe I would still feel miserable after work. Thank you for CARING!

I needed to find a new pair of workout shows and know that I need special support. Taylor took her time to show me all of the best options for my feet (3 pairs) and took the time to see how I walked and ran in each. I will definitely be coming back in 6 months to get some new shoes. Support local!

Absolutely the best customer service! They made my health and safety the top priority by letting me know when the shop would be empty and even staying open late to make me feel comfortable by being the only customer in the store. They are knowledgeable, patient and so kind! I will definitely be returning to this local gem!

The people at 847 are body positive and so supportive no matter where you are on your fitness journey. They asked about my favorite ever cross trainers, looked at my old grungy faves and then watched me model several new pairs until we found the perfect fit. The attention to detail and joy with which everyone greets you makes me never want to buy workout gear anywhere else. All of the workout clothes I live in on no workout days are also from them. Truly the best- I ve found my people and my place!

Kal and Nicole are truly some of the kindest, most welcoming people I've ever met. They will listen to your needs and make you feel heard and valued. They are so passionate about helping others and making running an inclusive sport for everyone!! At Fleet Feet, I got the sense that the employees were just trying to profit off of me by selling me things I didn't need, but that's not the vibe at all at 847.
