7 stages is awesome. It's an intimate venue for the performing arts that attracts excellent acts.
Awesome venue, Awesome production! Had a great time. Also drink prices are very reasonable.
A lot of construction and open spaces, but it will do. Its a small, intimate theatre with upcoming actors who has done a wonderful job!
The Dance Company Experience performed here on New year's day and it was spectacular!
Great place amazing dancer practice there every Monday
Interesting place with interactive art installations and live performances. Coffee shop next door attached.
We saw The Thing About Men in this eclectic little theatre. Outstanding performances from great local talent! Very affordable and one gets up close and personal with the actors. We will be sure to check out future shows!
Went to sse performances by my daughters dance company (AC of Moving in the Spirit) and then Youth Creates (which she had just joined). The theater had a welcoming, smart vibe and was quite professional. Oh, and comfy seating!
7 Stages Theatre Company tackles socially relevant topics with local and international artists. The venue is rented out to a wide array of art-making. You are always surprised by the type of gems you find at this theatre.
Saw a play called First Date with some friends. Great actors and cast. Theater seating is very small - just enough for 100 people at most
Fun events. Inclusive bathroom.
Long line for drinks. Tiny chairs.
Lots of fun spaces and constantly trying new things to reinvent their brand and reach their audience. Always feels friendly and like everyone from box office staff to directors deeply care about their venue
Main stage area is very wheelchair accessible. As is the shared entryway to the coffee shop next door, and the bathrooms. Always the most amazing shows here!
Very nice theater. It seats 150 to 200 people, there is a bar, and a great amount of parking.
Just the right size for an excellent theatrical experience. Also located in a very eclectic area
I'd been here before for a burlesque show and now a comedy set for Harry Potter. The setting is intimate and comfortable. The chairs aren't too close to each other. The bar there is also convenient. And they have gender non specific bathrooms.
I attended a youth ensemble with my daughter and it was amazing!!
First time here and I can't wait to come back! If you haven't been yet, buy your tickets now!
Youth creates is the best. Everyone in that building is a clump of magic!
This theatre has been here for many years and is a place where you can always find unique, edgy theatre.
Backstage is an intimate performance space the puts you in the play.
This is THE place to go if you want thought provoking theatre that explores uncomfortable topics like race, religion and gender. The co-creative directors are really talented and unafraid to push the envelope. You may not like every play they put on, but that is because they do not cater to every audience every time. But when one hits home, you will fall in love with 7 Stages.
Always the most intriguing and well done unusual performances.
Support the Arts! 7 Stages Theater is an amazing organization dedicated to bringing life to the community.
Loved it
The play (before black lives mattered) was A+! Great seating. Not cramped at all and it was a sold out performance.
My husband and I got tickets here for a night we were visiting family in Atlanta. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard in my life! I was seriously crying from laughter. We got "just seats" and they were excellent and the bar is wonderful also. I was concerned when booking that the comedy would be raunchy or we would feel out of place, but was very pleasantly surprised. We just parked at the meter just across the street. We will definitely be going back some time!
We saw Naked Boys Singing here. It was a great show. We found parking on the street right in front of the theater (it was Sunday and parking was free). Seats were comfortable.
Intimate, unique and inspiringly original venue, whose operators are invested in the performances so much so that they are more than mere performances, they are true expressions of the beautiful heart, passion and humility that is rare to find displayed so openly and vulnerably. I will support 7 Stages as much as I can make it over there!!
I was there to see the stage play, Love, Sex, and Marriage which was awesome! This venue is very nice.
When on my annual pilgrimage to see the YEA Holiday Soup Performance!
Was sound operator for full radius tapestry dance group was great!!!
Neat venue with two stages and a bar/coffee shop attached. Will call runs very smoothly. Only complaint is narrow seats, but I didn't request special accommodation so still rating 5 stars!
Some of the most interesting and innovative theatre in town and a great venue for vital theatre in the metropolitan area.
Offbeat exciting and perfectly weird for 40 years. Premiere theatre for all!
A classic unique theater located in Atlanta Little Five Point neighborhood. Great entertainment there with a huge variety.
Great seats and really good sound! I love seeing shows here.
Hands down my favorite local theatre in Atlanta! Every show here is awesome! As both an actor and a patron 7 Stages never disappoints. There is an excellent selection of coffee shops, bars, and restaurants nearby to grab a bit beforehand or a drink during intermission. The box office staff is very accommodating to questions about to tickets and show info.
Stop by. See a show. Have a coffee or cocktail at Java Lords. The art and history run deep here.
This theatre is very good. When I went there they were performing il ete une fois. It may be small, but good
This smaller theater is wheelchair accessible, has gender inclusive bathrooms, and puts on a great show.
7stages is just a really cool theatre in a really cool space. I saw the Followers there and the intimate setting and phenomenal performance values absolutely blew me away. If you get a chance to see a show here, absolutely do so! There is parking onsite directly behind the theatre, and I m pretty sure it s free (I haven t ever been towed when I parked there), but there s paid parking just to the left if you re concerned, and it s only $4 I believe. Also, word to the wise, some of their shows (like Followers) are on their more intimate stage, and you have to go through the coffee shop next door to get to the theatre. Just ask whoever s working there and they ll let you know where to go!
Great intimate venue. Fantastic location for the little five points horror film festival. Comfortable stadium style seating.
Onstage Atlanta used it while looking for a new place
Saw Bengal Tiger in Baghdad Zoo, a really ambitious play for a small theater like this. It was great. The performances were incredible.
An awesome live performance space that has been around for over 40 years in Little 5 Points. Grab a drink at Java Lord's next to the lobby and carry it into the show! Large gender neutral bathrooms past the water fountain. 7 Stages has all kinds of shows. Live plays, Dance, film screenings, music, etc
Enjoyed the reading of Adult Night School. I hope there is more to come from this writer.
This place is quirky and interesting. They have a lot of unique stuff playing, and there never seems to be an end to the amazing people you can chat up. My only concern was the safety of people coming here by themselves, especially at night, given the neighborhood as a whole.
Compelling seasons of theatre, and truly different from the rest of ATL. Led with a sense of community and integrity. Check out their work!
Intimate. Fun neighborhood, easy to get to. Easy parking in back for 3 to 7 dollars depending on the night.
Old school theater like set up. Small stage. Up close and personal.
Theater was ok but play "First Date" was very good.
It's a nice little campy theater. There's a coffee and drink bar which is good for socializing, although acoustics can allow it to get rather loud. Sound system in the theater could be better.
First time at this small theatre. Went to see White Woman In Progress. Liked the proximity to the actress, Tara Ochs. She was an amazing force in this one woman show. Wish there had been more focus on issues and less on the history of her character. Still a great unique show!
Have shot here a bunch. Such a great staff. Support theater houses!
I went to see and hear my very favorite duo, Byrne and Kelly. They performed a two nights concert in April. Great place, loved the seating area and stage.
This was a very unique experience. Extremely entertaining and at an unbeatable price. Convenient parking blocks from the venue.
Terrific venue, great seats and acoustics in the main and black box theatres.
I've seen two performances here and both were incredible, especially considering this is a relatively small venue.
If you like alternative, community based theater then this is a perfect place to go! I really love it here! The variety of shows put on is amazing and though I was a little nervous because I don't live around the area or know anyone there, I was still treated very nicely. I only mention that because every time I go to a show, it seems like everyone knows everyone so I tend to find a corner and enjoy from there. But overall, excellent place!
I just recently saw the play The Nursing Home. It was a great experience and had a very important message. The theatre was small and old but that didn t change my experience.
7 Stages Theatre: A Professional Non-Profit Theatre Company
7 Stages is a professional, non-profit theatre company that has been devoted to engaging artists and audiences for over 40 years. The company was founded in 1979 by Del Hamilton and Faye Allen, with the aim of creating a space where artists could explore new forms of theatre and engage with contemporary culture.
The mission of 7 Stages is to focus on the social, political, and spiritual values of contemporary culture. The company believes that theatre has the power to transform individuals and communities by providing a platform for dialogue, reflection, and action.
One of the unique aspects of 7 Stages is its primary emphasis on international work. The company has produced plays from all over the world, including Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and Australia. This commitment to international work reflects the belief that theatre can be a bridge between cultures and can help us understand our shared humanity.
In addition to producing international work, 7 Stages also supports and develops new plays and playwrights. The company has commissioned numerous new works over the years from both emerging and established playwrights. This commitment to new work reflects the belief that theatre must continue to evolve in order to remain relevant.
Another important aspect of 7 Stages is its commitment to collaboration. The company believes that theatre is a collaborative art form that requires input from many different voices in order to create something truly meaningful. As such, they have developed innovative methods for collaboration between artists from different disciplines.
Over the years, 7 Stages has become known for its bold programming choices and willingness to take risks. They have produced plays dealing with controversial topics such as race relations in America (Angry Fags), gender identity (The Gender Odyssey), mental illness (Psychonaut Librarians), environmentalism (Sea Change), among others.
In addition to producing plays at their home base in Atlanta's Little Five Points neighborhood - which includes two performance spaces - they also participate in various festivals around town like Atlanta Fringe Festival or Out on Film Festival showcasing their productions there too!
Overall it's clear why this non-profit theater organization stands out among others; not only do they produce thought-provoking works but they are committed towards supporting emerging talent while promoting diversity through their programming choices!
