My overall experience wasn t at all what I hoped for. I was feeling optimistic after the initial consultation, but one of the recommended treatments left me sick for weeks with terrible side effects that should ve been discussed prior. After visit two, there were still red flags, but because I had invested money in the consultation, I decided to continue to seek treatment. As a result of visit number four, I was in so much pain, I had to return to the care of my Orthopedic specialist, go back on pain med, and consequently go back to physical therapy. I ve always assumed chiropractic care is something that helps and not hinders, so sadly coming here was a disappointing setback. Originally, I had requested to be seen by Jeanne, but they ended up putting me with someone else. It s possible that I would have been able to be on a better path to healing under her care. I see from other reviews that some people have been able to get the help they needed. I just wasn t one of them.

Dr. Jeanne, Dr. Ryan, and all of the 1st Step Family Wellness team are phenomenal professionals. Every time I leave the office, I ve learned something new about how the human body works. I ve experienced so much healing for various injuries, chronic issues, pre and postnatal care, etc. with their support and guidance. The care you receive from them is really remarkable.

I started seeing Dr Jeanne during my first pregnancy and haven t looked back. She is amazing with prenatal help and children. My 5 year old has been getting adjustments with her since he was less than 1 week old and he has definitely had fewer illnesses than others his age. Dr Ryan has been great for myself (when I m not pregnant) and my husband, helping with persistent knee and shoulder issues. I recommend their gentle, whole body approach to everyone!

I ve been a patient at 1st Step Family Wellness now for several months. I started going for prenatal care but have also started bringing my 16 month old daughter as well. It s a great, welcoming place! I would highly recommend to friends and family!

Seeing Jeanne was an answer to our prayers for issues with our son especially his eczema. She was great at explaining what was going on and why other protocols weren't working. We are seeing improvements in not only his eczema but he is also thriving better.

I saw Dr. Ryan for a few months when I was undergoing some prenatal depression and anxiety. Dr. Jeanne and Dr. Ryan were very attentive, concerned and willing to hold my hand through a very hard time. Enzyme therapy really helped relieve a lot of my symptoms and even though I ended up in intensive care, I do feel the treatment I received made a difference. You can tell these people are in it for the community. I m really blessed to have met them.

I always enjoy visiting 1st Step Family Wellness. After seeing Dr Ryan I feel better and he always answers questions and explains everything in the most professional and complete way.

I started seeing Jeanne back when I was pregnant with my youngest son. I honestly don't know how I would have gotten through that pregnancy without her. I has so much pain daily and after seeing her regularly I ended up having my 3rd trimester be my most comfortable which is insane! Shes very knowledgeable and definitely the only chiropractor I feel comfortable trusting my children with. The staff is fantastic and its a very family like atmosphere. They seem to genuinely want to help their clients and make you feel like you're part of their little family. Just love them!

This practice is amazing, they helped me when I was in extreme pain from a serious back and hip injury. Although I needed to get a more invasive procedure for my injuries, they helped keep me comfortable enough to continue working through it while I waited for stem cells. They have a really cool co-op for fresh local organic foods, too! These are not your average chiropractors, their knowledge runs deep and it s not just a quick crack and go type of place, they truly care about their patients and their overall health. I d recommend them to anyone! Go see them and join the family!

I have suffered from chronic pain and fatigue for almost twenty years and every medical doctor told me that it was my diet, my traumatic childhood, my imagination, anything but what it really is-Lyme and co-infections. Dr. Jeanne nailed my chronic illnesses from the beginning and started me on a healing regimen. There have been many bumps along the way, as is the case for chronic viral infections, but Dr. Jeanne has been there every step of the way. Her support has included adjustments, supplements, homeopathy, acupuncture, and pulling down my stomach- yes, you read that correctly. When she pulled down my stomach, my back pain immediately dissipated! The whole office is great about trying to squeeze you in when you are really suffering and need immediate attention. The couple of emergency times Dr. Jeanne has not been able to see me, Dr. Ryan saw me instead and provided the same level of care and empathy. I highly recommend that you visit 1st Step Family Wellness for yourself to start or continue your journey to healing.

Awesome experience with Dr. Ryan. I was suffering from continual headaches when I went to see him. With a few adjustments and some supplements, I was finally free of incapacitating headaches! Make sure to give him a try if you have a similar problem.

It's such a scam. They charge you $200 for a 15min session (literally) when they state it's an hour. They ask medical questions they can't & aren't trained to manage. The chiropractor was yawning & seemed like she didn't really know much. Would not recommend nor want to return to see them.

I had the fortunate opportunity to meet Dr. Ryan Sandheinrich and felt very comfortable to seek him for chiropractic treatment. He not only does a great job, but he takes the time to truly understand the patient's needs and focuses on you. He will not rush you, push you for more treatment, nor make you uncomfortable.

I now get treated by Dr. Jeanne Sandheinrich and I can say she is so much fun to be around that you want to be her friend too! We could talk forever! She is very good at what she does that you will definitely walk out feeling better than before or maybe even ever! I have lots of challenges which made her a better fit for me. She also provides acupuncture treatment to round out her wonderful services. Lastly, I am not pregnant, however, if I was I would be foolish not see her. She can help with so much pregnancy related problems so you don't have to feel so much discomfort during pregnancy.

I definitely give them both 5 stars.

Dr. Jeanne and Dr. Ryan are amazing at patient centered care. I have been seeing them on and off for several years to help relieve symptoms associated with Crohn s and Ulcerative Colitis. I have definitely had positive results. I went to them after being frustrated by going to a ton of specialists that don t treat the whole person. Dr. Jeanne even helped me get my finances in order by recommending a class to help me relieve stress. I would certainly recommend them and their practice!

My newborn was a big guy (just shy of 11 pounds at birth) and his poor head was so squished we took him to see Dr. Jeanne (his bones were so overlapped he was very uncomfortable). She discovered a severe tongue tie during his first visit too...after his tongue tie revision and his chiropractic visits, he became the happiest little guy you ve ever seen...and truly people comment often about how perfect his head is. We are so thankful for all of her care for him. He only goes when he needs an adjustment now but she truly made the biggest impact on his early development. Amazing care doesn t describe 1st Step Family Wellness enough!

Wonderful set of knowledgeable Drs. A wide range of services for everyone in the family. My appointment with Dr. Jana was great. She took the time and energy to learn about me and my lifestyle and I could tell that she is very good at what she does. The adjustment left me feeling much better.

Our family is so incredibly thankful for Dr. Jana and the work she has done for our son. Our son was suffering from a bowl issue which left us having to make a decision wether or not to have him undergo a surgery that only gave him a 50% chance of solving his problem. Through her kind words, comfort, skillful work, and perseverance she has helped us figure out his dietary issues, and resolve 90%of his issues. Dr. Jana has not only helped our family, but as a local doula she has helped many of my clients. Whenever I refer a client to Dr. Jana I know wholeheartedly that she is taking the best care of them. Her dedication to the natural process of birth and respect for the birthing mother is remarkable.

Dr. Jeanne and Dr. Ryan have helped our family of 4 stay healthy the past 4 years. They have treated migraines, sore knees and shoulders, ADHD, food sensitivities and many viruses. We have also participated in their detox the last two years and look forward to joining them again in 2019. We feel so blessed to be a part of their wellness family.

We have been with Dr. Jeanne and Dr. Ryan since their start in Kirkwood. I found out I was pregnant with our third child and wanted to see someone who specialized in pre/post natal care. Dr. Jeanne got me right in and we connected immediately. I ended up miscarrying that child and Dr. Jeanne was there with me spiritually, emotionally, and physically every step of the way. She even knew I was pregnant with our fourth before I did. When I think about what a blessing knowing Jeanne and Ryan are, I feel deep gratitude and overwhelming joy. They have supported and guided our family through car accidents, tongue ties, sensory needs, gut health, pregnancy, and even birth. Jeanne stayed with me while laboring our Theo and adjusted him immediately after birth. She is an amazingly committed and Godly woman who pours her entire heart and practice into creating hope, healing, and knowledge to anyone who crosses her path!

My youngest son has dealt with many issues before coming to 1st Step Family Wellness. We ve tried many chiropractors in the past and the adjustments at 1st Step Family are completely different and we ve seen great results. We ve been blessed to have seen all the doctors there and they all have amazing strengths that provides very rounded out care.

My whole family loves all of the doctors and we recommend all of our friends! We ve had success in multiple areas. It s a great place for young children as well!

When you go to 1st Step Family Wellness you feel like you've joined a very special family and you feel empowered to make the right choices for your family's health. My entire family goes to 1st Step Family Wellness where we see both Dr. Ryan and Dr. Jeanne. We couldn t be happier with the service we receive! They are highly trained in holistic wellness, and my kids and I look forward to our appointments.

I ve been going here for the last 4 years and have had such an amazing experience. I have been able to see all of the doctors at this practice and they are all incredible! Dr. Jeanne helped me with infertility issues and through two pregnancies. For my son the cranial work the office did helped us avoid a helmet for his head shape. They also diagnosed lip ties for both my children and have helped with countless minor ailments. I feel like I am treated like family each time I m in the office, everyone is so incredible. I drive 30 minutes one way to visit this office and it is so worth it to me!

I was excited at the thought of this place, but the anti-vaccine propaganda I saw immediately in the waiting room is terrifying. Chiropractors are not trained in medicine nor immunology and this practice is no exception. It is highly unethical to encourage pregnant women and those immunocompromised (infants, transplant recipients, chemo patients, etc) to come to this office without prior warning about the high risk for exposure to preventable and deadly diseases. I will not be back and I encourage all pregnant women and families/caregivers with immunocompromised children to stay away!

We ve been patients here for 6 years and it feels like home. I trust the staff with our health and our children feel safe in their care. The doctors are always continuing their education to give us the best care possible. I love how they empower patients to take care of their own health!
