bought a samsung 50 smart TV for a work raffle. i ended up winning the TV which was lucky because when i set it up a month later the TV was broken. it was like someone had stepped on the screen at some point. no physical damage on the outside but once you turn it on it s absolutely unusable and you can t see anything on the screen except different coloured lines and what looks like cracks running throughout the screen. all this after not having the screws in the box when i opened it. i called the visions where i picked it up from and right away they told me to call samsung for the screws. after asking if he can just take one from one of the TV s in stock he still told me to call samsung. i said why don t you just give me one from a TV in stock and you guys can call samsung and wait for screws i already have the TV out of the box. finally he said you re right the customer is always right. ??? trying to make me feel bad now? sure. when i called about the TV being broken i was told repeatedly to call samsung. visions said i had 48 hours to bring it back after original purchase.. which they obviously don t tell you before you drive off with it.. so now it s on samsung to deal with it. the smug salesman at visions i talked to on the phone seemed to try to laugh off any valid point i had to make. when i asked him why he thought the situation was funny he said he just thought it s funny how i don t understand their policy. i do understand it. i also understand that it s not impossible to give your customers what they paid for, which for me, was a working TV. i know they can easily exchange my TV for a new one that works and deal with samsung themselves. in the end, i am waiting for samsung to approve a warranty because visions likes to kick their products around before they sell them. even the guy that loaded it into my car put it in on its side even though it clearly says on the box to have it standing up. if you ever need to buy something from this visions location, get them to turn it on for you before you leave the store.
