Morimoto did not live up to the hype or the cost. I ordered the 8 course omakase, and also had two drinks. The drinks were incredible, i had their takes on an Aviation and an Old Fashioned. As far as the omakase (pictured below) is concerned, the sushi was mediocre at best, and the dessert was inedible. The cod was delicious, the aged waygu was very unique, and the beef tartar was the best i've ever had. Everything else was good, but ultimately not worth $125.

I feel bad giving this restaurant 3 stars, but it does not compare to Double Knot. Double Knot's omakase is just flat out better, 12 courses instead of 8, and only $65. If it was better food than DK i could easily give it 4 or 5 stars despite the poor value comparison but the only thing that was better at Morimoto was the beef tartar, and so ultimately, I don't think i can justify more than 3 stars.
