Seems this place is more and more run down everytime I visit. This past experience was during Triatholon weekend. The room we recieved was on floor 12. The whole floor smelled musty and our room smelled of wet sitting water. Turning the air on never helped. The sliding door would not lock which was a big deal for me with a kid. Half the light bulbs, mostly near the front mirror and bar area, were not working. Due to the sliding door not locking, We decided to switch rooms, as we were getting the last of our belongings from the room on floor 12, we saw 2 baby roaches on the wall near the desk. I will definitely never stay on floor 12 again. After uprooting my crew of 4 to our new room on floor 18, we discovered there was no extra blanket in the cabinet, when i went to call, the phone was not working. I went downstairs again and asked politely for someone to fix our phone and to send up the blanket so I may cover the coach for my kiddo to sleep. They said they would send someone, no one ever came. I went down again and got the blanket and expressed to them I was upset at the inconvienience and that we wanted to order hot chocolate but our phone was not working. The lady at the front desk said that she would gladly take care of that for us and that someone would be by to fix the phone the next morning. 30 mins later someone brought us 4 watery hot choclates and a $21 bill for them. Of course I was caught a little off guard as I thought when she said she will take care of it, that she ment complimentary. Of course I payed and made no peep of it. I also did not drink mine as it tasted like a half a melted hersheys kiss in a big glass of warm water. The kids drank theirs. The next morning We ate at a local Ihop as last time we went to La toretta the 157 restaurant was gross. Came back and no one had fixed the phone. Asked multiple times all day that day. No one ever fixed the phone. Was a huge inconvenience as we would have loved to relax and order room service the evening before my husbands Triatholon race. Also, went to play raquetball and had to walk all the way around that building and the spa to the front doors to check out the raquets and balls, which we had to still wait for over 20 minutes as they didnt have enough for 4, then when we went to check them in as they are our responsibility, the spa was closed and we couldnt, and we were on a time crunch and were just going to turn them in when they opened the next morning as we had to leave to meet up others for dinner at a local restaurant and the gym closing time had just approached anyway. By 6am the morning of the race, they had slid our bill including a large charge for all the raquets and 2 balls. We quickly got that sorted out. Would have been much more convienient if we could have left them in the raquetball gym area like it use to be all the other times we have visited. Aside from that, the hot tub was gross, and one hot tub wasnt working, with a mess in the towel area, the grass area in the back was not well kept, and the volleyball net was all torn up. Spiders all in the middle elevator. Also, I usually do not leave reviews. I do not know If we will be back again anytime soon and definitely never on floor 12.
