Mary Fuller Review of Goebbert's Farm Market

When I was a child my family and I would come to Goebbert's Farm back when it was on Rand Road. It is completely different from back then which is both good and bad, however the one major issue I have with this farm during the fall months is that there is a total lack of care for the animals! It's bad enough that these poor animals have to live in a dirty, dark, and confined space while aggressive children try to touch, grab, and shove food in their faces (usually due to either no parental supervision or better yet encouraged by clueless adults) but it's even worse to see adults act this way with no one on the farm staff available to supervise these careless persons.
I was there two years ago and since then the farm has posted more signs that warn individuals to not touch certain animals (some even have extra preventative bars), and signs that illustrate the proper way to feed the animals (with a shovel NOT your hands) BUT still there needs to be more done. For instance, more supervision from staff members really enforcing and informing people about certain rules...
A new one that could and should be added? NO FLASH PHOTOS!
It's common sense people-Chicago zoos, the Shedd Aquarium both do not allow flash photos for a reason, it's disturbing to the animals.
So, please, Goebbert's Farm & Garden Center step up and do something about this because I am sure there are plenty of animal rights activist who would be more than happy to intervene...
As for the adults who attend this event, grow up and teach your kids the right thing to do!
