We are so very displeased and disappointed with our stay at this Hyatt. We were so excited at the amazing customer service we were receiving prior to our stay and the quick replies to requests. From Wed night (as we were told by friends staying here) till Sat night I can t believe the things that went on: guest complaining of smoke entering his room from the vents and the front desk saying it was no big deal just something with electricity, guest asked them to call the fire department and they said their was no need to he d send maintenance up but the guest had to demand again to have fire department come otherwise he would be calling; fire department arrives and all guests are not made aware to leave the hotel; children had to text their baseball coach and tell him and his family to get out because everyone was outside; at least 3 incidents w/elevators (2 out of the 3 of them) getting stuck and people being inside for at least 40 min waiting for fire department; no inspection certificates or weight limit postings in any of the 3 elevators yet a group of people who stuck were told it was their fault because too many people were in the elevator (so why did 4 eight year old girls get stuck?); phones in room 504 did not work to be able to contact ANYONE in the hotel (pressed every button and dialed 0 multiple times each day over our 4 day stay with just constant ringing); called the hotel phone number from my cell phone, it rang for at least 2 min with no answer (I get that it was a busy weekend with many weddings and teams but have enough staff on); waited 6 hours to get towels and wash cloths so my husband could shower - couldn t get anyone on the phone bc they didn t work from our room and took 3 trips to the front desk before we said we d stand there and wait; no towels at outside pool and 1 at inside pool; guest room service trays left in the hallways for over 24 hours and never picked up; police called to come by because a man knocks on a back door and is let in and asks kids about whether or not they have seen any cameras around or where there may be cameras and when the police come to check it out it turns out to be a misunderstanding because he is a registered guest ,worst of all - a double murder (mother decapitated, daughter killed, father seen leaving with son getting into red pickup truck, which still seems to be in the parking lot) on 4th flr sometime b/t Fri night and Sat afternoon.Staff just going about their business like nothing has happened, guests moved off 4th floor but no one is told whether or not there is a safety concern, especially with tons of children on site because they are required to stay there per Baseball Heaven, no news reporters are allowed on site. We have NEVER had an experience like this at any hotel.Esthetically, yes, it is a nice hotel with comfortable rooms but I see nothing more than an understaffed hotel with a few employees at the desk that are not suitable to work there and a company that is looking to continue to make millions but yet not provide safe accommodations. Applause to Josefena from housekeeping who delivered our rollaway bed and microwave and offered to get us ice from the lobby, Alejandra (?) our daily housekeeper who was kind, helpful and hardworking, and the 2 young ladies at the desk Sunday around 10:30 (Janine(?)a trainee) who were kind and helpful with checkout, checkin and showing my husband where to get a luggage cart. Another plus was the portable AC unit that worked very well where at most hotels they still have old wall units that do not work. There are serious issues here that need to be looked into, huge safety concerns that warrant closing for a bit to update. I will be contacting corporate and Baseball Heaven to inform them of these issues. Maybe the staff and manager at this Hyatt were told to deal with issues that came up in exactly the manner they did and if so then corporate headquarters needs to be held responsible.
