A week ago, my younger sister went to Essendon Mazda to have a look at a car she was interested in purchasing. As she didn't know a lot about cars she asked another sister to come along to help with a second opinion. She also thought that she would get good assistance from the mazda staff there and tell her about the specs of the car and hopefully test drive one. She wanted the cx5 sport but was hoping it came in manual transmission.
She was attended to by a female staff, which she couldn't answer her questions, so she went to get someone else who would be able to assist. When the female staff came back with, "Greg" supposedly the staff who had a lot more knowledge, she introduced my sister to him, but she said after the introduction he seemed hesitant to shake hands with her. He stood there long enough for her to notice, before he decided too.
Anyway he was not helpful at all, saying there was one cc5 maxx, but did not stock one to show her. He however walked away not saying anything to her, but she assumed he wanted her to follow so she did. He got to a desk, she sat down asking more questions. He did answer the questions and said that they may have one on the market but wasn't too sure. Knowing what she wanted she went through the brochure with him telling him to clarify certain specs, she just wanted to know a bit more before she made the decision to purchase it.
So instead of helping her go through the different specs of the cx5 model, he asked her when she wanted to buy it. She said probably within the week, she just wanted to see the difference in the models before she chooses which one. So instead of giving good customer service of saying, 'Definitely take your time to research, because $36,000+ is a lot of money to purchase a car for,' instead he rudely said, 'well when you are ready to make the purchase we can go through the features.'
My sisters felt he was only willing to help if she was going to buy one then and there with him, he seemed like he couldn't be bothered answering, if he wasn't going to make commision from her, so they left.
When I was told this, it left a sour taste in my mouth. So Greg! because of the way you were and you conducted yourself. She took my advice and went to a different Mazda dealer. She took her hard earnt cash, and went and got the best deal with Mazda Werribee. Can not boost enough about how amazing Anthony at Mazda Werribee was. My husband knows his cars, so we took her on Saturday 8th Jan down to Werribee Mazda and she purchased the car she was enquiring for that you did not help her with. She got it in the colour she wanted, in the model she wanted, along with extra things added to the bundle that you would have probably ripped her off on. And the thing is, we asked Anthony to show us all the specs, different ranges in that model from the basics to top of the range. And he did it with a smile, he did it with professionalism, he laughed, joked and even gave us fantastic advice. If you were maybe even half off what he was maybe, just maybe you could have gotten that sale from my sister, but oh well. Can not stop raving about how great Anthony was, he made our experience great. We even told him about you and her experience with you. Anthony was that great that my sister was willing to pay the payment of the WHOLE car upfront, but with his good hearted advice she put down a deposit for it. She will be ready to pick up her car by Valentine's day weekend. Mazda, Essendon that is the sort of staff you want working for you. Who takes the time to answer any questions, even if a customer does not end up buying. Heck Anthony's service was that great that my husband and I was saying maybe we should buy a car too. If anyone is after a mazda go see Anthony at Mazda, Werribee. He will take care of you, simply by taking his time to help you decide on what would be best for you in your situation! Well done Mazda Werribee you have an amazing staff on your team! Go see Anthony!
