Although the standard process of getting an insurance via Independer runs smoothly and the platform is for free from a customer's perspective, the customer service of this insurance provider is quite like garbage!

Especially worrisome was that Independer does not inform insurants about certain legal necessities of taking out a Dutch health insurance. For example, the health insurance must run and be paid from the first working day in the NL if you arrived newly in the country. Otherwise you might get a fine! Independer doesn't inform foreigners at all about such things. And when asked, they are even imprudent towards their customers! It happened several times that their information flow was questionable or that their internal systems were not updated. Their is a whole mess around the date you bought an insurance and the starting date of your coverage.

I lived in four different countries and never had such issues with insurances. So judge my experience for yourself...
