Since writing the below review I have to be fair to Carpenters, in that they have taken on my case without the use of their 'My Claim' electronic system and dealt with my very professionally. They have been prompt, polite and helpful. If given the option of not using the 'My Claim' system was more easy to switch back to I would have no hesitation in recommending Carpenters. They are very good at dealing person to person. I have therefore changed the review from one star to four stars. I believe it is important to credit improved performance and credit is certainly due to Carpenters here. Thank you.

Carpenters use on online My Claim system to track the progress of your claim. It doesn't work. Using their online help system fails to fix the problem. When I phoned up they also couldn't fix the problem. Despite this they said I had to keep using the system and couldn't opt-out of it, even though they knew it didn't work. The call handler (in a polite voice) blocked all attempts and requests made by me request a simple postage or email approach to communication. She refused to forward my call to a manager to assist me and was also reluctant to give me the details of how to complain. I will advise my insurance company that Carpenters are not customer friendly. I would be surprised if this makes a difference. I am not usually of a complaining nature but Carpenters give you no choice. Very poor.
