The area looks like the backdrop of an eighties science fiction show and seems almost deserted, but the Rokko Liner public transport to Kobe, connecting to railway lines to downtown Kobe, Osaka and Kyoto, is pretty quick and inexpensive. The hotel is well taken care of and has spacious rooms (certainly by Japanese standards), helpful staff who mostly speak passable English, and an extensive breakfast buffet. The building houses several restaurants and shops and is directly connected to the Rokko Liner Central Island Station. I'd happily stay there again on a future visit to Kobe.
