My son was at San Marcos Treatment Center for 5 weeks. He absolutely hated it, however I did feel like he received some level of therapeutic care and he came home no longer suicidal. The issue for us was getting his discharge report, which took weeks and I didn't feel like it was at all accurate..... and then getting his lab results, here we are two months later and I have requested them multiple times, but cannot seem to get a copy. My son, who is terrified of needles, will apparently have to get more bloodwork done to get a baseline on his medication levels since we can't get his most recent labs from San Marcos, which is extremely disappointing. As a parent trying to establish follow-up care, not having my child's most recent medical records is a huge hinderance. For a place that's sole purpose is to help children in need, the lack of follow-up communication or providing of medical records has certainly damaged our ability to keep my son on an upward trajectory.
