This particular location was a bit disappointed compared to other Four Seasons I ve tried. The furniture in the room is a bit tired, as are the carpets and bedding. Far from stellar, barely decent in terms of room size / appointments. The elevators are also very slow, there are clearly not enough cars for the number of guests and size of the building. The service is so so, at times wonderful, but sometimes they can ignore you or just be uncourteous. For instance, I was arriving with some shopping bags in the trunk and I was clearly struggling with carrying all the bags, there were 3 people standing in front of the door and nobody offered to get a bellman to bring the bags to my room. It s the kind of great service you d expect from a 5-star property (and the high prices they command) which I did not get. I think if I stayed in a good 3-star hotel, I d get a similar experience. The only reason I didn t give them a 1 was because the restaurant in the hotel by Daniel Boulud is quite fantastic and exquisitely well done (service, food, decor). So perhaps sleep somewhere else (there are no shortage of great 5-stars in Toronto like the St. Regis, Shangri-La and Ritz Carlton) and eat at their restaurant.
