I had higher expectations of this hospital. I brought my son here because he's had a fever for over 2 days. we took him to the minute clinic twice and the Denton Regional Urgent care. Those places ruled out the flu, ear infection, RSV, stomach virus and had no indication that there was anything respiratory (which confused me because of the hard cough). Unable to determine the cause of these super high fevers we figured it was best to try a children's hospital. We drove over an hour with a sick toddler to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth. When we got there we waited only about 20 minutes for the triage to take vitals (ok, not bad). There was a cool under water themed animatronic mural that lights up and moves (some of it). The nursing staff was nice but I was left confused by the diagnosis of my sons illness which was very generic. The nurse was going to run labs and blood work, which seemed the logical next step since other tests had been ruled out already, but the Dr. said no. I was just left with a very confused tired and with our issues completely unresolved. He actually got worse when we got him home (105.5!) I appreciate the kid friendly environment and how fun they try to make it but I just would have liked the Dr. to have been more friendly and done a little bit more to figure out the problem. My son has since gotten worse and I think we might take him back out to see a another Dr.
