As a local, visiting the Statue of Liberty was not part of my bucket list. However once my boyfriend, now husband from Alabama came to meet the fam, we did a NY landmark tour and we truly enjoyed our visit. It was easy to get to by ferry from the subway stop and very fast ferry ride to Ellis Island, which we really enjoyed. There's so much history that we've been taking for granted.
