We enjoyed a five night stay here, which is just outside of Rome, not too far from the Vatican. It was a lovely experience. The rooms, the breakfast buffet, the swimming pools, the outdoor space for lounging and eating, the view of Rome from the hotel (and some rooms), and the service - all of it was fantastic. To get into the center of Rome, if you even desired to do so (the resort itself is a vacation, frankly), we took the hotel shuttle, which runs regularly. It was quick, easy, and always on time. It drops off and picks up in only one place however, near the American Embassy. You're on your own after that. The one negative I would note about the resort is akin to most resorts of this sort: if you are not a free spender of your money, you'll find the resort food to be way too pricey. A turkey club sandwich (with fries), for example, will set you back 27 . A basic cocktail 17 or more. For us, we generally either ate in Rome itself, while out and about, or walked 10 minutes from the hotel to nearby neighborhood restaurants (which mostly catered to locals) and a gelato shop, which was fantastic.
