PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING CONTRACTING PERCARIO. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID.

My parents contracted Percario to renovate their kitchen, no, i'm sorry they contracted whoever Percario sub-contracts. That's how they have 4 stars on google. Because THEY don't actually do any of the work. After the job was postponed with no warning or explanation, they "started" the job by coming and going to their house with no schedule or heads up. Some days they did not show up at all. The project manager did not answer his cell phone, and the company never answered the main line unless you pressed the "Emergency Extension" in which a manager or owner was never available and the receptionist had every excuse in the book as to why no one could come to the phone.

This 3.5 week reno has now lasted 7 months. If you are still reading and still considering using this business, these are the events that transpired, in no specific order, under multiple project managers :

- Project Manager tried to get us to do more home improvements, saying he would get a bigger commission.

- INSTALLED THE FLOORING FIRST- which resulted in the floor raising and becoming unleveled. Had to REDO the flooring and order new materials and tear up the kitchen again after the project was done . We are on our second tiling which is now cracking down the middle and raising all over again.

- Cutting of tile INSIDE the house

- Never answering the phone calls or texts; never returning voicemails

- Worker brought his 15 year old son to the house

- Ordered wrong materials

- Sink fell off the back of their truck and was completely destroyed upon delivery

- Project manager fighting with my brother; saying he did not want to come to the house while he was there because he would question their non-existent work ethic/inability to show up/answer calls

- Not coordinating deliveries of materials when workers were on site

- Went into our basement and through my father s tools, used his leveler, got cement all over it, tried to put it back and hide the fact that they did this

- Ruined the floors in our dining room by using the wrong tape to cover the floor and pulling up the hardwood finish- NEVER FIXED TO THIS DAY

- When cabinets (that we were keeping) were removed they threw out the kick plates and tried to tell us that they didn t.

- Found holes in the pantry walls

- Molding was cut too short

- Back-splash grout is cracking

THE LIST GOES ON AND ON...

ALL THAT SAID, 7 months have now gone by and this project has been NOTHING but a DISASTER. The only way to get someone on the phone is to press the Emergency Client extension where Kathy tells you to contact the project manager or that no one is available. After I finally got a hold of someone, they agreed to come out to the house and take a look at everything that was going on and all the damage that they still HAVE NOT fixed. That person set a date and time to come by, did not show up, did not answer phone calls and ghosted us for 5 days. After another phone call to Kathy, Paul came to the house, promised to rectify the situation and bring Joe Percario himself to our house to see what was done and work something out. He took pictures of everything to show Joe. He said he would call me the next day to schedule this. Needless to say, that has not happened yet.

PLEASE, do yourself a favor and properly vet these companies before you sign a contract with them. Ask questions. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. And DO NOT use Percario unless you want poor work, no communication, a headache, and sadness.
