Though I have lived a good and honest life, we live in a society where anyone can say anything about anyone at any time. For this reason, I was caught by surprise when I found myself facing a charge of misdemeanor domestic assault and battery, after informing my wife that I wanted a divorce earlier that day. She made up some allegations, in order to get a leg up in the divorce.

In the days after these false allegations, I was fortunate enough to come across Altman & Altman, and specifically, Attorney Steven Goldwyn. From the start, Steven was extremely patient with me, answering my many, many questions about this charge. From the start, Steven believed in me, and in my case, and for that reason, he recommended that I go to trial. Not once did he even entertain the idea of taking a plea deal, even though it probably would have been easier for him.

For over a year, Steven accompanied me to pretrial after pretrial. At each pretrial, he retrieved more information from the district attorney. Additionally, he was always there for me, responding to calls, texts, and emails at all times of the day and night. Often, Steven was more than just my attorney, but also a listening ear, and a friend. I had never been through anything like this before, and Steven always reassured me that everything would work out well, and the truth would eventually prevail.

Finally, on my trial date, Steven showed exactly how skillful he is as an attorney. Steven completely out-prepared and out-performed the district attorney, to the point of embarrassment. Steven found inconsistency after inconsistency in the testimony of my ex-wife. He asked her several details of the alleged assault and battery, to which she had either inconsistent, or no answers. With Steven s intense questioning, it became obvious that the arresting officer and my ex-wife could not agree on nearly any facts of the case at all. As a result, it became evident to everyone in the room that my ex-wife had fabricated her stories. He completely destroyed the prosecutor s case, seemingly effortlessly. Though I had spent endless hours thinking about my own case, Steven found ways to pick apart their case that I could not have even imagined. At the end of the day, the verdict was read, and it was not guilty. Even though the entire room expected a not guilty by that point, it was still amazing to hear the words being read.

Steven is a tireless and fierce advocate for his clients. He was there for me during an extremely difficult time in my life, and his confidence in my case always made me feel better. When it came time to deliver in the courtroom at trial, I could not even have imagined the incredible defense that he provided me with.
