Was speaking at a conference across the street from this hotel; the conference organizers booked me and paid for two rooms for me to stay at this hotel. I was originally supposed to arrive around 9 PM Tuesday night but my travel plans changed and my travel was shifted overnight. I got to the hotel lobby at about 6:30 AM, exhausted, wanting to relax for a few hours before the conference, only to find out they had booked my room for another guest and received payment from that guest for the room, even though my reservation was already pre-paid, so they just shrugged and had no rooms for me. I don't know if this is common practice for hotels when a room is pre-paid for -- to take in a second guest and receive payment from them as well, and screw over their "guest" whose travel plans changed -- but it spoke volumes of their greed and incompetence.
