Update: The Bloomingdale's Twitter account told me that someone from this store location would be contacting me (not sure why it wouldn't be someone from corporate) and they haven't. I guess this is why God created lawyers.
My wife and I arrived at Bloomingdale's at 8pm on Friday January 19th. As we walked into the women's shoe department we noticed that the sales clerk was preoccupied with trying not to make eye contact. My wife then picked the shoes she wanted to try on. The sales clerk then walked away and made sure that she was unavailable although we were the only customer in the section. My wife decided to try on the displays and the sales clerk yelled across the floor to her associate that she was closing her register even though it was 8:15pm. To help, my wife then put back the shoes that she wasn't purchasing on the racks and brought the 3 pairs that she was buying to the register. At that point the sales clerk snatched the shoes while complaining and only returned with one pair. She then slammed the one pair down and yelled that she's going home. After she left her associate would only ring up the 1 pair and when my wife asked for the prices he turned his back, sucked his teeth, and slammed the shoes down. At that point I had it, left the premises, and returned to a car with a flat tire. I don't know what we're supposed to think as an African American couple being serviced by Caucasian salespeople who act this way in this political climate.
