I was discharged with the same symptoms I was admitted with through the ED. Upon discharge, these were not well controlled (ataxic and dissociated). Further, The entire time I was on the floor I repeatedly requested to be seen by Infectious Disease (as suggested by many other providers). I was never seen by one of the ID doctors during my entire stay. Some of the staff were terrific. Key of the outstanding and proactive personnel was the nursing staff and Dr. Riascos-Mazo MD. Most of the others were not. Further, I was discharged shortly after requesting to be seen by a patient advocate on how my case was being handled, which is incredibly suspicious. I am still sick, and was provided little if any progressive care by this hospital.

I am a former flight medic and OIF/OEF veteran, so am well established as to how medicine should be - patient centered and proactive. This is and was lacking at this hospital almost entirely.

So if you have a sprained ankle or slightly elevated blood pressure, sure - maybe go there. They will throw some palliative meds at you. If you need real patient care and diagnoses, go somewhere else. They seem incapable of doing so.

Their Emergency Department was outstanding. However, beyond that due to the lack of attention to detail and care, I would avoid admittance because it could prove fatal (depending on your condition).
