I contacted Allied over 3 weeks ago, regarding my dissatisfaction with there service, and I still have not heard any response yet. This shows me that they truly don't care what the consumers think.

As far as the inspection itself, I can only review the inspector that I experienced. Below is a summary of the letter I sent to the company over 3 weeks ago...

The inspector showed a lack of courtesy in the way he treated our home. I don't think that I should have to clean up after the inspector leaves, but that is exactly what ended up happening. Not only were things left out of place but I had to sanitize surfaces throughout the house where I found his footprints where he was climbing up on my stuff in his bare feet. He also felt the need to rip my base moulding from the wall in several locations and not re-secure it. I also found several light fixtures as well as our digital house humidifier display, all of which have never had a problem before, to be no longer be functioning.

The inspection report contained many "discrepancies" that if given any thought can be easily explained and should have been omitted. This shows the inexperience of the inspector and lack of understanding of what is truly a "safety hazard". After reviewing the inspection report with another certified home inspector, we found many of the findings to be erroneous. Just to give one example, the following "Major Defect" was listed on the report:

"Major Defects

There are sections of the basement wall that were wet at the time of the inspection. You should have a qualified contractor evaluate the source of the water and make repairs."

In the 9 years I have been living in the home, the walls have never been "wet", nor were they immediately following the inspection. Following the descriptions of this "Major Defect" are images of a moisture reader with elevated readings. The readings were taken on an area of the paneling that was patched because of damage. The patched panel is a little too large for the area and therefore slightly concave, causing contact between the paneling the foundation. After reviewing this with another home inspector, he checked this "discrepancy" and reported the following:

" I tested the wall in pin mode which allowed for the direct testing of
the wall finish material. My readings were an averaged between 1.5 to 5% moisture which is not considered elevated with my meter. The walls finish under the windows in the basement id in contact with the concrete or block foundation wall. Utilizing a surface non- invasive type moisture meter could have shown a false high moisture reading due to the difference in density of the wood paneling and the foundation wall."

This, among many other "discrepancies" on our inspection report are easily explained and show a lack of experience / knowledge by the home inspector.

Overall I am very dissatisfied with the way our home was inspected.
