My husband and I stayed here a few nights ago. The purpose of our trip was a date night away from our kids for my husband's birthday. Approximately 30 mins after we checked in, someone entered our room as I was getting out of the shower. I heard the door start to open so I jumped in bed under the covers because I wasn't dressed yet and didn't want someone to see me naked. My husband who was in the shower yelled and asked who it was but the person immediately turned around and left. We have no idea if it was a hotel employee or otherwise. We spoke to the front desk and they have been ignoring our concerns. I have no idea what they would have done or stolen if we weren't there. Also, they have not verified that it was an employee and not someone trying to gain access to people's rooms. After speaking to 3 people, they all said we need to speak to the director of rooms who is conveniently ignoring my husband's phone calls. This is a major security violation and we are lucky nothing happened to either of us. I wouldn't expect a room intruder at a motel 8, no less this hotel where I paid over $500 for a one night stay. Also, our date night and chance to sleep in without the kids was abruptly ruined when the guy started power washing the patio and building at 0600 outside our room on a Sunday morning. My husband and I loved this hotel prior to this but I am appalled that the hotel is not more concerned about this issue and not willing to reimburse our stay after a major security issue like this. Also, a front desk staff member admitted that they knew the power washing outside would occur early that morning but "we didn't have time to relocate the people in those rooms". So the hotel philosophy is really one that cares about its customers. This past stay completely ruined our opinion of this hotel. I would give it one more chance but without a reimbursement for this horrific stay or a free future night, we will not come back.
