Went to the Valentin June 20-24 for our honeymoon. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful landscape, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great pools and great spot on the beach. The beach is not really that crowded. The pool closes around 6 pm so the night is very peacefully and the pool never gets too loud. Food was great, especially with the different options. You will need to make reservations at the Italian and the hibachi restaurants, all others you can basically walk up to and get a table in a few minutes. (We did dinner around 8 pm everyday so that could change with time.) They have enough entertainment (evening shows) at the resort that you will not have to leave. We enjoy the MJ show. Be prepare to walk to get to anything (half a mile from the beach to the main restaurants, most rooms are either close to the beach or close to the main building, so you will probably walk close to 2 miles a day.) Room service was awesome, they service the room twice a day so if you don't want to get out of the bed in the morning, they will service the room that evening when you go to dinner. The resort is in the middle of nowhere (about 30-40 mins from the Cancun/Cancun airport and 30-40 mins from downtown Playa Del Carmen), so you will not get bugged by any outside visitors or vendors unless you want to be. I will recommend Valentin Imperial Maya to everyone. Thanks for the great stay.

P. S. I would suggest that you get the privilege package. You will receive liquor in your room, have a private concierge, a private cabana either at the beach or the pool (they will bring you beach towels) and you can make all your reservations at the private concierge. It will totally be worth the money. Also the Cirque du Soleil show is right down the road (10-15 mins by taxi). I would suggest you go to it.
