We booked our vacation directly through the Four S...

We booked our vacation directly through the Four Seasons Resort web site. Three to four weeks prior to our arrival, we received a phone call from the FS that some "emergency work" needed to be done at the property. We questioned what that was exactly and they said it was work "on the beach". We asked many questions at this point such as 1) Will this impact our trip in any way? 2) Will we hear any construction noise? 3) Would we see any construction work going on?

We were told (and I quote), "We have miles of beachfront here. You won't even know it's going on." They made it sound as if, should we walk the entire beach of their property, we would eventually come upon a construction crew. But we wouldn't see it, hear it and it certainly wouldn't impact our stay.

We would have CANCELED immediately had Four Seasons been HONEST with their upcoming guests.

We have complained to 3 employees now and heard nothing but excuses. They have completely ruined our trip. This is not what we paid for, nor what their glossy website promotes. The beautiful private dock photo they have posted on their website- well imagine that with 2 bulldozers and 3 excavators working from sun up to sun down.

The Great Room (reception/check in/breakfast etc) overlooks two beautiful landscaped main pools which are the only pools designated for families to use. The bulldozers and excavators are working right out in front of both pools. All you hear is major construction noise- not the sound of birds chirping or the ocean lapping. It's completely DISHONEST for a hotel to do this to any guest spending thousands of dollars to arrive in what should be paradise.

We have already told them we want to check out. And are looking at trying to find suitable accommodation for our family, which is next to impossible considering this is the only 5 star resort on the island.

Had FS been honest, we would have changed our flights to Antigua and visited the Four Seasons Nevis on our next family vacation. Instead, their selfishness about trying to keep their occupancy full while undergoing construction and their blatant dishonesty has ruined our trip (as well as many other guests).

We spoke to several guests staying here since arriving (nothing bonds strangers than a common problem at a resort). It's the same with everyone: this isn't what FS explained prior to arrival. It's completely soured everyone's experience. Normally, you have to fight for a lounge chair at any resort. But today, every single lounge chair sits empty because the Four Seasons has behaved dishonestly towards the paying guests.
