Disastrous and a waste of money.

Disastrous and a waste of money.

So we had a reservation at 630 at Spago for dinner before a show at the Beverly Wilshire.

We put in our orders around 650PM. We were 4 people. We thought that would be sufficient time before we walk over to the Beverly Wilshire at 820 to catch our show. We were wrong.

In the mean time, the waiter barely ever showed up, and when he did he wanted to touch and feel my shoulder and back. Very weird.
We did get our drinks but good luck for another round.

At 8PM we still didn t get our food, which was over an hour later. We started to get worried. It was hard to hunt the waiter down to ask him where the food was but we were able to. After we did that he never came back and really disappeared.
We wanted to just get the check and leave. It became a stressful experience. 2 of us ordered the veal in the picture and the other 2 ordered halibut and another fish.
At 820PM the food shows up.
I wanted to leave it and go so we don t miss the show but I was convinced to just gobble up quick by the time we get the check and pay then we ll leave.
The veal was chewy as hell and very overcooked. I had ordered it medium. The 2 of us that ordered it had the same experience. Tasted very bad for so much money.
I tried my girlfriend s halibut and it was so dry and very sticky and overcooked. Zero flavor. She had 2 bites and left it.
We ran to our show and barely made it after waiting for so long and then having to eat expensive bad food.
What a waste. I felt scammed and ticked off rather than being happy with a fine dining experience.
Our bill was 590 dollars. We still left the useless unfriendly ghost waiter a 20 percent tip but we re not going back to Spago again I can tell you that much.

No manager ever showed up to apologize or even thank us.
Bad experience.
Sorry Wolfgang Puck, your staff made you look bad.
Some of your other restaurants are much better.
