I personally would not lineup to see such things normally but since it was Corona we got in easily. The palace was nice to see with loads of rooms filled with artwork and furniture. The garden is nice too but it is ridiculously huge. There is a time when music is playing timed to the fountains which is cool. The other smaller palace is a fair walk so give yourself time and be prepared to walk!
Some people rented golf karts and there is also a mini train service to ferry people. We went during a heat wave so it was a bit taxing walking around but during more normal days is probably wonderful.
I would say to do everything at a decent pace you should get there late morning to lunch time to give yourself time to take everything in. We ran out of steam after the smaller palace and didn't walk that garden or see the zoo.
