My 27" iMac, hardly used, started to shut down unexpectantly. It took three visits to the Genius Bar over several months to seemingly resolve the problem - the machine at the moment is working as expected.
The point I want to emphasise is, whilst being frustrated at not having a computer when it was needed and the hassle of getting it into Perth and back, the overall level of service and outcome is really quite outstanding. My Mac was a week or two out of the statutory warranty period but those three visits saw; repartitioning of the HD, install of a new HD and finally replacement of the LCD display panel, logic board and power supply - all at no cost. The discretion in providing an in-warranty approach to the problem, general professionalism of staff and, ultimately, a machine that is now working all adds up to customer satisfaction. Thank you, Apple.
