Nadine Review of Rosamond Gifford Zoo

Half of the exhibits are empty and have been for months. They renovated over by the elephants but the directions on the big board that is posted leads you to believe the path no longer continues in a circle. Thankfully there were 2 zoo workers walking by so I asked about that. They apologized and said the map posted was misleading and incorrect. They also have added a miniature carousel ride for a cost of $3.00. You can't purchase tickets there unfortunately, you need to walk to another location. You must have exact cost because if you pay with a $5 or $10 bill (etc) you do not get your change back. You can only receive tokens. I also tried getting a bottle of water from a vending machine next to the carousel ride. I lost 5 one dollar bills in that machine! Ridiculous! I don't expect to bring my grandchildren to the zoo and not spend quite a bit of money, however I don't expect to spend a lot of money and see empty enclosures, get ripped off on a carousel ride and also from a vending machine. It's been months animals have been missing from exhibits. You're better off going to The Wild in Chittenango. They have so many animals you can't see at the zoo, ever.
