I needed a routine physical for a job that I've had for over a year. I listed the medications I take, which were prescribed by my gp and I've been on for years. I'm very familiar with their side affects and how to manage them.
The Dr looked at my papers and lectured me about the possibility of withdrawal if I missed doses, then wrote on my physical that he required that I have 90 days worth of medication before I could be assigned (I work in remote locations). He didn't ask me how I had managed previously (I could have told him I get my meds shipped to me), he didn't ask how long I'd been managing them. He seemed to think he was doing me a favor and told me he was looking out for my best interests, very condescendingly.
In fact he could have royally screwed me up, since my insurance does not cover 90 day supplies (another thing he didn't ask).
All in all it was a very frustrating experience.
Tl;dr condescending mansplainer knows my body better than me or my regular doctor.
AVOID.
