Awesome stop on our vacation day trip. We were staying at a campground about 45 minutes away but decided to take the scenic drive down to Chincoteague to visit this place, the Chincoteague Museum, the beach and we had lunch at Pico Taqueria, so we made it a whole day. The kids were excited to see big rockets on the way in and the interactive displays inside were a hit. There are big touchscreen devices that play videos of the various testing they do and the kids spent probably twenty minutes shuffling through them. We took pictures of all the kids behind cutout astronaut figures and fighter pilot figures and spent way more than necessary in the gift shop, but my 11 year old just had to have a necklace with a genuine chunk of meteorite, lol. We also picked up some patches and pins to add to our collections. I recommend taking the time to stop here and see what interests your family. We were disappointed that we would be leaving two days before they had a special event blasting off rockets but that would have been awesome.
