So where do I start. My family and I have been coming for years. We love the mountain vacation (from Charleston) and Christian environment for the kids. Unfortunately things have changed over the past couple years. Last year we had issues with booking and reservation before arrival. We then arrive and are ignored and neglected for 3 days about basic needs...housekeeping and food allergies. We talk to management about issues and was told they were going through a "transitional phase". I accepted the situation and believed that to be true. So we decided to return this year. We arrived and are greeted kindly by old friends. In the discussion we are told that management has decided to stand with the LGBTQ community and raise the gay pride flag for pride month. I would like to say we are a supporter of LGBTQ rights. We also believe though that a Christian organization should follow the teaching of scripture, not be politically opinionated as this move clearly was. As with last year, we have had more issues with proper hospitality and management follow though. As our stay progress we come to understand that many upper managment positions have been changed and there are some issues inside the company with core Christian beliefs. With that being said we unfortunately do not feel comfortable with this change in environment. I have made multiple attempts to kindly address the issue with management and I have had no response. We pray the old Kanuga comes back.
