Overall, a nice hotel. Located in a quiet area of Irving and situated next to a lake with a promenade. I stayed in one of their suites for 3 nights; it was spacious and had a balcony, albeit very small. The room decor and furnishings are outdated but tolerable. Very clean property. The lobby was inviting. Check in/out was routine. Nice TVs in the room with decent channel selection. The bed was quite comfortable. It was quiet when I stayed there, except for the usual idiots who let their room door slam shut at 11 p.m.; that s not the hotel s fault. If you want a small refrigerator for the room you have to request it. These days, refrigerators should be standard in every hotel room. Bathroom is basic. In addition to a regular toilet, which is too low, there was an old, non-functional bidget that looked like it hadn t been used in years...they really should remove it. Shower is average. Housekeeping was prompt and efficient, which to me is very important. Friendly and helpful staff. The Trevi Restaurant had a terrific breakfast buffet, which I thought was reasonably priced for the selection of food. I didn t use the spa, pool, or fitness center, so I can t comment on those amenities. I thought parking was great. The garage is close to the entrance of the hotel and I never had a problem finding a parking space. There is self park and valet options. Quick access to major roads from the hotel. DFW is about 15 minutes away, and there are plenty of food and shopping options around the area within 10 or so minutes. I like that their check out time is 12 noon vs. the usual 11 a.m. There s a decent Japanese restaurant right around the corner, and Subz N Stuff across the street is awesome! I do think they need to work on updating room decor and furnishings, but I d definitely stay at the Omni Mandalay again.
