I have been to tea at Langdon Hall last year and while the food was average, overall it was a nice experience.. I went to the high tea today served in the new hall and it was horrible. The building reeked of a chemical smell due to the recent construction. The room was new but lacked any character and the acoustics were horrible. Between the customers talking and the music, you had trouble hearing what the people at your table were saying. The staff were lovely but the food was horrible and getting luke warm water for your tea was gross. We asked for a alcoholic drink, and were told if we really wanted one they would get it but it meant going to the main building... It was clear this would be a huge imposition so we declined. upon exiting the room we saw the camp coolers sitting on the floor open, that contained the food we just were served. So not sure if they opened this new room too soon or they were just intent on making as much profit as possible ripping off customers If you have been to other high teas, you will be sadly disappointed in the horrible food, and getting one cup of tea .
