LucidityOfPower Review of National Aviation Academy

I'm in school as of this review--about 6 months in. I went to the New England school, and now in Florida. I I have to say that it's a great place to learn what you need to know about aircraft (much better than college) and that it all depends on the instructor. The instructor you get can be the reason between the thinking of "this school sucks" and "I love what I'm doing." And then the material and its presentation can have a similar effect. For example, some books are wrong, but instructors quickly remedy that with their knowledge. In addition, I don't understand why people give this school such a low rating on here. This school tries to work with its students as much as it can, and they're not all about money as some people have said. I have not regretted doing this at all. Is the school perfect? Far from it, but does it deserve a terrible rating for trying its best? I don't think so; there's clearly effort put into this. Anyway, some instructors teach not-so-well (as I said, it depends--I've had some really good instructors and others that aren't), even if they know their material well; your learning will be highly dependent on the instructor. I personally had (so far) some of the best, most caring instructors who have shown me what I need to know. I'm a little disappointed about the instruction at the Florida's branch; it seems way too 'lax' compared to New England's branch (they seem a bit more serious there). Another excellent thing about both schools (if you get a good instructor, too) is that instructors are generally willing to explain, willing to answer questions, and willing to work with you to make sure you get through it all and out there to work on aircraft. I don't really have anything bad to say other than that; if you do the work you're supposed to (and believe me, it's not THAT much), work with your classmates as a team, you'll be fine (and you should study to pass your tests, no doubt about that). Oh, and would I recommend this school to anyone else? Absolutely. I think NAA does it right.
